  1. It looks like a blacksmiths cut off tool The spike is odd, they normally fit in the "hardie hole" of an anvil but who knows what peculiarities they get up to in Frenchieland
  2. How do you regenerate a tree? Surely you need to be a time lord to do such things, even that's not without risk, it could come out looking like Sylvester McCoy
  3. AFAIK it comes under PUWER and wont need a LOLER inspection
  4. ...................
  5. Its not ideal but the lack of power is the real issue
  6. The main function of the dual mass seems to be to soften the driveline, this is all well and good for a people carrier variant but is problematic in vehicles that are "put to work"
  7. I think ideas like the dual mass flywheel have a lot to answer for
  8. They are now, time was you would get a flywheel skimmed up, same with brake drums and the like, its all built to a price now with a life span of warranty plus one day:thumbdown:
  9. Put your advertising on the vehicle and when you need to be anonymous, cover them with plain cover ups This way you only need to have the magnets on when the vehicle is on site reducing the danger of them blowing off
  10. OK lets look at this objectively, Canopy was your choice and has (presumably) improved the vehicle for your purposes so its an upgrade and needs to be taken put of the equation. Oils filters and belts are standard running costs so put them into that column. Underseals are similarly an upgrade. Signs and stickers are also an upgrade. The clutch and flywheel are also consumables So when you boil it down you are actually into this car for the worn running gear, if you decide to out it, you are going to need to replace or with a same model and age so your upgrades fit and you are getting into another unknown quantity. If you are planning on getting rid soon anyway then take the hit and get out now, otherwise stay with it. Motoring costs money.
  11. A bit unfair really Its an 08 plate motor that could have any sore of history behind it. If it were new with problems possibly but its a used car
  12. Not as local as some but these guys are good Hydraulic Ram Repairs? Click Here | redgoldhydraulics.co.uk | hydraulic ram repairs and hydraulic cylinder repairs
  13. We do understand, well I do As the man you stand to make the profit, you also have to accept the risk
  14. You can do day rate or FPLS but I doubt any customer is going to take you on with an open ended agreement You take the profit, you take the risk simple as that.
  15. :congrats: Well Said
  16. Or for that matter reading the entire thread:laugh1:

  18. Fancy that. Want more flow, better pressure, change the pump.
  19. One of the best ways to preserve wood is to select timber that's not already pre disposed to decay. Have a read up on the teachings of the late great Shigo

    Storage

No you got it wrong the first time
  21. I cant believe its been 12 months since I didn't loose weight or become a better person
  22. Thanks for that Jon but its not up to me to keep safe though is it, I did what I could to prevent flooding when I bought a house half way up a Pennine hill. If my place floods it will be because the powers that be didn't take account of the run off that would be created by the new development that they allowed then failed in their duty of care to manage
  23. Outside my house
  24. As timber dries it shrinks as will pretty much anything we can dessicate As the timber dries the moisture loss leads to a tightening of the cell structure Its this that makes the wood tougher
  25. Its quite possible for it to fail on time alone
