  3. If I were starting again I would go with the basics first. get tickets for cross cut and stack and maybe small felling. Then master cross cutting and sharpening. This gives you the best chance of getting a job and from there more experience. Eventually that will lead to a climbing job so be prepared for the glory, hosts of red hot chicks, fast cars and suchlike.

Slow down to a gallop When you say you have to realise that the "ticket" is your licence to operate (legally) but in a commercial world, as a stand alone its pretty much worthless without experience. Go for entry level grounds man, get a licence that allows you to tow a chipper and get some experience. See if you have the aptitude and will after dragging brash through dog egg infested gardens.   9. For the most part the tipper electrical system will be isolated so any fuses are hopefully a moot point
  10. You have the problem in front of you, Q1 How quick can you get the chip away Q2 How quick can you get it on the deck That's probably a good days cutting and chipping provided you have a decent machine and can get rid.
  11. You could put a fuse in the main feed but such fuses are expensive and seldom used on such heavy gauge cable. You want the fuse to protect the smaller wiring so the nearer it is to the supply the better, the supply is currently (no pun intended) taken from the terminal on the pump tank unit. You could take a feed from an auxiliary fuse in the vehicles fuse box, the advantage of this is that you wont have to lie under the truck to swap a fuse if it pops on a rainy night in January. The switch circuit is fairly low amperage so unless anyone else knows better I would start with 7.5 amp When you fit the wiring make sure its all tidy and protected from edges and the like

OK The thick red cable is power to the P/T unit The three core R Y Bl is Red is power to the switches (fit an inline fuse to this there it comes off the solenoid) Green is power through the switch to solenoid to send the tipper down Black is power through the switch to solenoid to send the tipper up
  13. Its a self contained pump tank and motor unit The pump is part of the power pack, in your picture the blue painted bit is the hydraulic tank, the oily part is the valve assembly and the rusty bit is the motor

  18. The 2 wires to the battery are likely to be a live and earth. The fuse should be an in line somewhere between the battery live and the switch.

  23. You would like it there, extensive tree protection "naturschutzgesetz", permits and red tape are required even for quiet farts particularly in the sensitive summer. Get yourself a work exchange organised, you would love it
  24. The tipp (up) function is controlled by the solenoid which is the small round thing with three wires to it. Its an electrical switch that engages the high power side of the circuit In your picture its the thing with the flat (2 core?) wire running forward to a switch, presumably somewhere in the cab. The down function is by means of another solenoid, that one is on the oily, middle bit of the pump tank unit. Its the small round bit that's on the side of the unit.
