  1. When they ask for me I say just a moment I will go get him, then leave the phone alone till they hang up
  2. I know a man that rips them down on a big circular saw for fence posts but as others have said, if its a pole barn, use full poles.
  3. These show me threads are getting a bit silly, I wonder what you will want to see next
  4. Don't forget to tell your insurer about the lift, it not much of a modification but it still counts and if you don't tell them they can wriggle out of paying.
  5. :laugh1:That's a lot of money, surely you could just thread a ratchet strap down the jacket and out the pants leg?
  6. I am now neutral about orange plant. I used to dislike them a lot for cold calling during the day, I had to be quite severe with them before they finally got the message.

That's probably overkill, and would be expensive. GRP and even regular ply puts up with chip well enough
  10. Flexibility is an asset:thumbup1:
  11. The NPTC units are almost universally specified within the UK. Competencies are "required" HSE and the NPTC is the market leader. Most employers and particularly main contractors require you to produce your "card". If you can get a cross over qualification you are going to have to get used to explaining things to site managers or health and safety officers:thumbdown: The other thing you will need is a CSCS card, its a very basic qualification required to work on construction sites, its cheap enough to get and you would have to have your head on backwards to fail the test.
  12. Looks like a page out of the Stihl catalogue to me and I like that
  13. The HSE guidance on this differs from your opinion. It only makes mention of defects or weaknesses, there is no mention of assessing the equipment's fitness for purpose. person who has appropriate practical and theoretical knowledge and experience to enable them to detect defects or weaknesses in the equipment It goes on to make several further mention of defects but comes nowhere near assessing the application of the kit.
  14. I have been a dedicated Stanley man since forever but brewing fresh coffee is one of my little luxuries and doing it on site is ace.
  15. You sold me on that.... I was using someone else's on the weekend and the piezo has jossed it so I was having my doubts anyway
  16. Ha ha, hillbilly camper:laugh1:
  17. Jetboil users Ok so I am going to buy a Jet Boil and I think my choice is the Sol model but if I save the thirty quid and go for the Zip model will I regret it and why? The only difference I can see is for the thirty quid I get a piezo ingnition:confused1:
  18. I hear you loud and clear on that point:laugh1:
  19. Mind how you go with the debit card, my UK bank charged a transaction fee so keep it to decent sized cash withdrawals to minimise the fees.
  20. If you cant find one you can make one out of a couple of bits of 25mm angle and a couple of bolts and wingnuts
  21. Guess where it came from:laugh1: He wouldn't have wanted that gnarly thing for firewood and that chestnut is more than he can mange anyhow:thumbup1:

  23. I think we should leave the clipping in and "tool" attachment just there :laugh1:
  24. Ha ha, thanks, the reminder to self about Isla Negra and arbtalk was probably due to wear off sometime soon.
  25. I don't see how there can be any argument The item was failed under loler because it isn't a 3 action gate but the entire 3 action gate thing has nothing to do with loler. That's indisputable fact, where does perception come into that?
