  1. Did you have a written contract?
  2. The first thing you need to establish is that the works were done in the back of your notification and that another contractor didn't make their own Then you need to decide what you will do if they don't pay, if you don't have a written contract you may have problems recovering any costs.
  3. Managing trees with structural problems is all well and good IF you can exclude a target. If you cant and the tree causes damage despite your measures you are well and truly in the pincers.
  4. I would look at the cooling impeller fins on the flywheel Take the pull start cover off
  5. How old (used) is the bar, are there any burrs on the top corners?
  6. Or the depth gauges are off, BUT none of that is right if the saw cuts straight on a pushing cut. Turn the bar over and see if the problem "reverses"
  7. What you are looking for is probably sheet piling Its as heavy as hell and usually installed with a machine
  8. Its LOLER inspector rather than tester and the course you need is the LOLER inspectors course. Many training providers run it, give it a google
  9. Until you remember the "is the vehicle modified in any way" part of the insurance, those slippery buggers don't need much room to wriggle out of something.
  10. You have to go at it a bit slower, I warmed some left over carbonara in mine, pastatastic
  11. I heat soup in my jetboil, works a treat on low.
  12. When you google it try spelling it JETBOIL:laugh1:
  13. Try sourcing second hand HGV trailer curtains, heavy durable and pretty cheap, colour can be a bit random though.
  14. And of course that's how it would always be used wouldn't it?????? No wait, the "rule" came into force because people were having accidents using top handled saws on the ground.
  15. So are Ed (armchair arborist) and Kev Stevenson and others Search results in United Kingdom , West Yorkshire | Arbtalk Firewood Directory
  16. Any reason you went with the dyneema? It isn't that good if you shock load it.
  17. Nowt to do with bagged or not, chucking stuff over is fly tipping even if is as good as unactionable
  18. Its likely that the shuttle valve is stuck although this normally happens when the PUH isn't used for a while, hence the loader question. Looking from the back of the tractor follow the RH pick up arm back to the housing. There is a rectangular tin cover on the top of the casting that houses the pick up arm. The shuttle valve is under that, it will be a PITA to get at with the cab on but you can get a thin screwdriver in there and flick it loose. DONT DO IT WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. The arms can come up and squish you under the cab which is most undesirable.
  19. Is it fitted with a loader?
  20. Lucky escape for you then
  21. Putting the cable on requires the winch to be running so lets skip to solenoids Assuming the battery is fully charged the solenoids are probably goosed but just in case its stuck with lack of use here is a bodge fix. Operate the switch and identify which solenoid is clicking, the press again and give the offending part a whack, when I say a whack I mean a gentle tap with something non conductive, it may free off it may not, if not replace. Once you have it running the cable can be put on. Wear stout leather gloves when handling cables. On the drum will be a hole to thread the end of the cable, there will probably be some way of securing the cable inside the drum. Single the cable out in a snag free manner and press the button to spool in, keep some tension on the cable and allow it to feed on without overlapping itself Job done
  22. Your thoughts Felix The law holds that the tree owner isn't responsible for the leaves when they fall off so if they land on your property they are yours to dispose of. Chucking them from whence they came would amount to fly tipping?? Not that that has a lot of teeth.
  23. LMAO Small change that.:laugh1:
  24. If he is back in tomorrow you don't need to report it Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995 - RIDDOR - HSE
