  1. No probs, errrrrrrrr Beaver, you do know there is no such thing as red petrol?
  2. As I said before, it all depends on the ram, it will work whatever but flow equals speed. I have seen quite a few splitters on beaver power packs and none that were struggling.

    mot and tax

Its an offence to have an untaxed vehicle on the road unless its on the way to an MOT test or repairs for the MOT Its also an offence to have a taxed vehicle on the road and not display the disk.
  4. The set up I did for ED works well but don't be so quick to dismiss the power pack option they have plenty of ummmph. Most are petrol but diesel ones are out there. 30l/min isn't shabby your TW is only turning a pair of low speed high torque motors and might not even have 30l about The more important question is what are the splitters requirements?
  5. That's not what you said though is it? What you said was the fuel was going stale in 2 weeks, now you are saying you got given a saw with fuel, god alone knows how old in the tank, hardly the same thing methinks. I am pretty sure pump petrol wont go off in a couple of weeks.
  6. This is exactly what keeps going through my mind. I have no option but to trust the HSE to know what's appropriate and they get it right more often than not. They have a duty to keep us safe yet they remain silent on the issue which for me casts doubt.
  7. If you wind it back a post or two my concern want about aspen, it was about petrol going off in a couple of weeks, or rather the claim of it. The OP responded and that was that but others interceded and took it in this direction.
  8. I don't see it happening anytime soon, they managed it with outboards because the 4 stroke was a real alternative
  9. A single B&S engine not starting is hardly comprehensive proof, and if you were keen enough you would check them to prove your case. Left the wife's car on the drive for a month once, it started first turn of the key.
  10. I said the last time I used it, the first time was many years ago so its you that need to get "ur" facts straight. What makes you think that just because I am familiar with alkylate fuel I would prefer it over pump? When its as convenient and as cheap as pump, maybe. A little dearer would be OK if I owned a hedge trimmer perhaps.
  11. I will make do with whatever you have but I prefer "Pferdd", they last a bit better than most
  12. Its alkylate fuel....mate....., no different now to then and the last time I used it was about 12 months ago
  13. I tried alkylate fuel before you started in this job mate
  14. Citation please, or its just sales rhetoric.
  15. I have the hedra, its great on SRT but if you use it on DRT (yes I know you shouldn't) it hocks up a bit but nothing you cant live with. It started off a bit nubby but its smoothing off nicely now.
  16. That's not as relevant as you might think, the first thing is to establish the nature of the sub soil and the moisture content. Personally I think you have been taken in by the staged removal thing, its a myth, perpetrated by engineers who don't understand vegetation.
  17. More that that, the SE clay has to be near desiccation (due to the vegetation) when the property is built
  18. Call yourself a pedant?, that's pathetic. How can we take the word of this "stove expert" when he isn't aware that the Abbot isn't a tank at all, it is in fact a self propelled gun, an artillery piece You would think he would get his facts right.:laugh1:
  19. I se where you are coming from but I don't understand how you are getting bad fuel in the time frame. I use Stihl 2 stroke oil and we lost a combi can for 6 months, the fuel was still fine, in my experience it takes more than that for fuel to "go off" so what oil were you using?
  20. Holy mix oil Batman, what were you putting in to make it go off in 2 weeks????????????????
  21. Misleading title alert That's not the picture I was expecting:laugh1:
  22. No good relying on forward speed to get air over the rad then??
  23. Its a bit of a moot point, your options are run it wet, run it dry, (without making a bomb:001_huh:) or don't run it.
  24. Put it in the tyres:laugh1:
  25. I am going down to Kidderminster tomorrow and I can pick them up on the way back
