    What!

Thank you for that, made me laugh on a rainy morning:laugh1:
  2. You don't need the gearbox, most of it will be redundant anyway. Chuck it away and gear it direct from the flywheel with pulleys
  3. That's a big engine if he was planning on a 6 inch chipper
  4. Nope, most chippers run the flywheel at about 1000 rpm, if they have a 540 input they will have a gearbox or be geared through pulleys, either way you would strip the chipper to the input shaft and do the gearing with pulleys of your own.
  5. There is an easier way, strip the gearbox and clutch and get a spigot shaft made to pick up from the flywheel then run the drive through pulleys. Saves a ton of aggro, weight and space..
  6. If you have a PTO unit its not beyond the realms of possibility to build it into a chassis and add an engine. If you are thinking of buying a PTO unit to convert I would think the aggro and cost would be prohibitive.
  7. Hmmmmmm There is no substitute for swept volume, when in doubt add horsepower.

    What!

tell them you have already reduced your footprint by sacking the range rover off in favour of whatever you are driving now (assuming its not a range rover) Tell them you are waiting for delivery of a Nissan leaf and do they have a charging point you can use.............
  9. The chartwell stuff is duplicate with one copy staying with the vehicle
  10. I will get some pictures for you later, shall I include the post code and an inventory of what's in there, perhaps some details of the security measures as well????????? Oh wait, I can put pictures of my kit on the equally misguided show us your kit thread As for price, well that's going to depend on what area you are in, how much space you want and what services the land has. Don't forget to factor non domestic rates for any buildings and when picking a location preferably away from neighbours who might not appreciate a well tuned chainsaw the way we might:laugh1:
  11. There won't be much to choose on price Chartwell is the main player Any commercial vehicle factors will have them or you can het them on the bay Chartwell Vehicle Defect Report Pad CVDR1 | eBay
  12. A lot will depend on the manufacturer of the body, if its a factory fit unit then you are in with a chance. Most are aftermarket and while the hinges usually run with the chassis rails and as such ought to line up, its unlikely they will be compatible from one manufacturer to another. Have you thought about replacing the existing body with a new one? you can get everything you will need from service metals
  13. What?.... Do you read this through before posting How are you going to know one member from another, how are you going to know which is a crim and which is pukka? Or are you saying plod should check us all out against stolen kit?
  14. Well the recent "show us your kit" thread is a thieves charter but even if its in the members area that's no protection, all they have to do is join:thumbdown:
  15. If you tell them in advance it may well prevent them getting up to mischief in the first place. In England it makes no difference because if the camera covers a place with public access ( as this will) you are obliged to put notices up anyhow.
  16. .................
  17. You should search the archive before asking, do a search and read what's already been said. See you back here in a week or so..............
  18. Nope, if the ROW is on your land you are the servant tenement and as long as the dominant tenement uses the ROW in accordance with the easement they don't have to ask anything
  19. The dominant tenement is entitled to use the ROW as detailed in the easement, if the easement is by long use and not written he is entitled to use whatever has been used historically. If it has become overgrown he is entitled to clear it, he is also entitled to improve the surface as needed.
  20. Mine gets a hard life, first time around I bought the phenolic ply, this time I put exterior quality ply sealed with a good paint, same job half the money.
  21. I have had a couple and used a lot of other peoples and not had a problem. As for the noise,,,,, Man up and get used to it. If it bothers you live with it in the knowledge of the extra torque you get
  22. I ran a 2640 for a number of years, mostly site work, running a chipper and dragging timber. They are big and a bit numb, wouldn't be my choice for tight spaces but it will do your winch and any other shaft work a treat. Reliability wise you wont have many problems. They are simple to maintain and repair, I had a broken selector fork and replaced the hydraulic pump in 8 years and sold it to export for more than I gave for it so while I think the price is on the top side I am not surprised
  23. Congratulations on "worse thread title ever"
  24. That's not strictly true, what can and cant happen is governed by the tenancy agreement, you need to read that first
  25. That's so funny it should have a health warning
