  18. If the PR valve were open (unlikely, see below) the body would hardly move and if it had a bit of dross under it as they sometimes do, the body would lift but the ram would start to drop as soon as the motor stopped. Titing about with a PR valve is a bad idea particularly on an older system where the flexi hose may not be the newest. If the flexi bursts the body will come down at speed. Most PR valves on tippers are cartridge type with pre set springs and not adjustable for this very reason.
  19. The seal on the input shaft is often an "O" ring. replacing it required dismantling the entire pump. Can you put some pictures up

  23. If you want quiet the only option is hydrovane
  24. Just to clear the terminology A pollard is a much greater measure than a reduction. Its generally a removal of all branch material back to the main stem. Since protected trees are involved you might want to consider some professional input on site. An arboricultural consultant would be able to advise you and if needed (sounds like it is) a report to BS 5837 (trees in relation to construction) to be submitted as support to your planning application.
  25. So maybe something along the lines of an equipment register? A place where you can check serial numbers of kit against a stolen database? Home - The National Plant & Equipment Register
