On domestic jobs, do none of you go back and ask them why they are not paying face to face? i find people are so different when you ask them out right for the money, this email and phone call thing just give them space to not pay. I've had a few not pay but after a week i go back to the house and collect it. people can't get there shopping and pay weeks later, demand you money

  5. it depends what you are splitting, if its big rings then get a vertical one if its 12 " max timber then you can get away with a horizontal. I've had one of these for years for home use. its never missed a beat. 7 Ton Electric Log Splitter including Stand for Titan Pro 2200w Splitter PDI | eBay it will split clean timber with ease and some branch unions, but it is limited i pick and choose the timber i split, horrible big stuff gets done in the yard with a proper splitter:biggrin:

  7. Take the belt to the nearest belt supplier and they will measure it and give you one to suit, do the same with bearings. I would not bother going to a dealer for belts.

  18. Personally i see your mistake was to do any work for wood as payment. Just because they are charity does not mean they can't afford to pay. The price is the price regardless of the client and for me the wood is a by product of the work.
  19. Sycamore removal speed lined the canopy to the chipper then with the help of machinery lifted the stem out
