Whats the likely hood of you getting started full time after the course? have you phoned local companies to check for vacancies or are you willing to work anywhere? As a company owner i would only employ you as a brash dragger regardless what tickets you have, i think personally you would be better to get your basic tickets, chipper and trailer or hgv license and start getting experience in the industry, after 6 weeks you will have a bunch of tickets but not much else. This industry is crippled with people with all the nptc tickets but there are very few who have the correct attributes to be a good employee, you see jobs on here advertised for months and theres no doubt there have been candidates apply that have tickets but few that have industry experience in a wide range of tasks that it takes whilst doing "real tree work". Good luck though on your future goals.
  8. Cheers, it's a mystery then
  9. Smooth work Rich, kong trees? that's not owned by Tom "kong" Watson is it? He will have no bother getting paid off most then Was the speed line rope tied off or just held, some off the sections looked a fair size.

  18. well there you go i never knew that, everyday is a school day
  19. music went great with that
  20. fast wee splitter, very cool mate
  21. Looks great, Are you just quick release hoses to the winch or a valve block so you can swap between? Is it staying there permanent?
  22. Tried that and always had trouble with them, even torqued they still seemed to tighten, last time i used the torx i had to weld a nut on two to get them off !! hex bolts have been used for a few years now and seem easier to come out on the blade change. they are not stainless for the reasons you listed, original bolts are grade 8.8 so thats what i replaced them with.
  23. Theres an easy solution to that if it does not fit, you carry an empty sthil can then swap the petrol over from the husky one to the sthil one to put in your saw, you will need a spill kit though or a black helicopter on silent mode with the H & S police will decent upon you then its a 5to 10 stretch !!! i bet they pass 4 robberies and a rape on the way though I've never bothered with cans i just put the fuel in a bin bag and the oil in an old wellington boot, i then take the cap off the saw and dip it right under the petrol, when the bubbles stop its full. simples
  24. i just got hex countersunk bolts from an engineering place took one in and they gave me the equivalent or you could buy the torx ones direct from greenmech
