  4. i might drive up for the day as i miss the rain…
  5. Thats a bit of a generalisation there mate, I've been an ISA cert arb for 12 year and had plenty clients choose me specifically because i was an arborist, The UK chapter might be dissolved but it does not stop the qualification being recognised internationally.
  6. i will check tomorrow John when I'm up at the yard.
  7. Thats a cool truck i may have a set of 8.25 20 super singles on unimog rims if they would do, i can check if your interested.
  8. send it back shane and demand a refund..disgraceful:thumbdown:
  9. Mine is rubbish, I'm going back to the old stihl can. Petrol spout will not automatically close anymore meaning it goes everywhere when you pull it out ( i sure some on here can sympathise with that problem ) and it leaks oil from the seal ( I'm on the second seal). The tool holder was the only reason i bought this can but its getting launched.
  10. I've used mine twice, they were ok. Tend to put a pulley up.
  11. As above its one hour learning equates to 1 CEU so if the course takes 6 hours but theres a few breaks you have to deduct them. Also i was recently told you don't get any CEU for an assessment, but you do for training. seems a bit mad that you can have trained but never passed but it counts towards CEU. Im on about the ISA though.
  12. Seen one at the apf, JUNK!!! stay clear, get a second hand known model.
  13. How did you get the kanga to lift that? the manufacture says the kid only lifts 100kg, i had a shot of one on hire and it was very limited in its lifting ability, what have you modified to get the extra lift, really interested as its what put me off getting one. cheers did you change the rams? any chance of a picture.
  14. Does the kanga only lift 100kg max or something? i think riko do smaller grabs but you may need to fabricate a mount so that will eat into the lift but I'm sure it will happily lift all day 50-60 kg lumps without getting a sore back
  15. I've never even seen top gun. that saying sums up a lot of people though.
  16. sounds like another tit Writing cheques with his mouth that his body can't cash. ignore them and get on with your business.
  17. Never had finance but I've heard good things about Arblease and i see they do a CS100 for £17 a week!! i don't know if thats for a million weeks but they must be worth a call. I'm sure greenmech are doing a good finance deal at the moment PM pete b on the forum. good luck. link to arb lease Chippers & Shredders - Arblease
  18. I bought this RAM 20 grinder ex demo in 1999 and its still going, I've never even changed the main bearings. i don't do a lot of stumps so can't see the point of changing it.
  19. I think its great, the UK chapter were terrible to deal with, I've had more stuff resolved dealing with America over the last month than i did in the last few years from the uk chapter.
  20. thats very funny kev Thats has got to be the worst first post on arbtalk ever, you have just made your client look like they can't cut trees. money well spent
  21. They are junk i see quite a few at the accident damaged auctions, they get written off for the smallest bump. they look like the disintegrate. As above the older ssangyongs use to be merc engines and running gear so pretty much bullet proof i don't know about the newer ones. As previously said get a known make, unless you need to be in a brand new pick up and have a limited budget hence why you are looking at the the wall pick up, Even then I'm sure you could crack a deal on a poverty spec known pick up rather than junk great wall. Final word would be get a hilux
  22. Theres one on this Facebook site, keep scrolling down the page until you find it 6 ton one for a grand. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1438926289712224/?ref=bookmarks
  23. What !! you touched your phone??? your sacked…...
  24. i can second Stevies sentiments, hard working boys, a credit to the youth of today that us auld yins all moan about
  25. Couple of things in the arb aid kit are great the tweezers with the magnifying glass and the bandages that stick to themselves ( although you can get them in tesco for a couple of quid). I got told on a forestry commission site that it was not suitable as there were no large wound dressings, FC guy went through the kit and said nope no good. i had to borrow dressings before i was allowed to cut on site. Anyone else had it rejected?
