1. Excellent company, i got a jenson from them, the machine is first class.
2. Early to mid 90s if memory serves for the first two other one is last year, always said i would not do this when i was 50 ahh well…..
3. I was with Adrian flux it was about 500 for a value of 20k.
4. if your heart is set on tickets, get your chipper ticket and trailer one or at least be able to tow above 750kg that raises your head above the rest, if you are looking at working for larger companies get your hgv that gives you the ability to drive 7.5 ton plus, this makes you a viable asset to get men and materials to and from site.
5. Buy another harness mate you only get one life
6. Where are you based and what age are you, put some details in the post so anyone interested gets a better idea of what you can offer, you never know who is reading as Arbtalk is a gateway to the industry.
7. You have no chance Ben you should take up playing the bass or pimpin' oh wait a minute…..
8. See if someone will take you on as a brash dragger/labourer to see if you have the tenacity for the job, then build up your credentials after that, far too many in the industry with too many tickets and not enough heart or skill to do the job. Better to hire for attitude and train in the skills. Phone around your local companies and be honest and explain your desire to do the job. Good luck, if you want it bad enough you will get it.
9. Yes i got rid of my mog and chipper and even though i had not used it in a while it was sad to see it go, my son misses it more than me as every time we went to the yard he would drive it about the farm. gutted he is to say the least
10. Arborcut has my old TP150 for sale, it got a new drive motor, main bearings and blades recently and done very little work since. great chipper.
11. On new quotes i would say close to 60% but my business runs on repeat work and referrals, so they would be close to 80%, As I'm sure we have all experienced regardless of your history with one client the new client you meet it just does not click. Interesting thread
12. Phone Robert at Arborcut, just got a jensen from him at xmas, excellent company to deal with.
13. Is that powder coated? If so it will burn off once used in anger, I made a bollard and got it coated it comes off. Zinc coating is the way to go, get the back plate slightly curved as it straps to the tree better also weld the tube closer to the bottom of the plate so the force gets pushed into the tree rather than up towards the canopy. See a Hobbs. Grcs for examples of where the bollard is mounted on the backplate. Good luck with it.
14.
Did you get the pm Paul.?

15. I did laugh when they said "the last one rolled off production line" i thought to myself was that because it would not start They have there place for work, but why anyone would choose to use one for a personal vehicle? that i will never understand.
16. Got my Rope today from Honey Brothers. delighted. Cheers Steve and HB.
17. You must have a modern mobile phone? set that up and film it from the ground, As Joe says its great to see excellent climbers in action.
18. I found the choke on mine vibrates out and cuts the engine off, i had to put a bungee cord around the engine to hold the choke in the off position when chipping. So check that, as if you are tipping the engine back it may be putting the choke off and allowing the engine to run again. If you can't get to the problem, phone greenmech. edit.. Pete swooped in like a superhero there with a big G on his chest
19. What model of mog and power output at the pto do you have ?
20. Is the chip box getting mounted on an x frame Ian. Cool mog.
21. Thats a stunning looking truck, where do i sign..
22. whats the £1500 Bob is that the cost of the container? how much in import tax do you recon. i always admire them when in oz and would love one but never looked into it any further, £1500 is cheap for delivery. always promised my self one and as josh says "one day" but I've been saying that for 25 yeas on every visit to oz, i might look into this a bit more and set myself a goal.
23. The power unit is there to turn the flywheel, even if you used the hydraulics off the digger to turn the rollers you still need power to turn the flywheel with the blades. you can get hydraulic chippers but i think they would need a much greater flow than a mini digger puts out.
