  1. I love the fact that KTM demoted him (to Gas Gas, which they own and is essentially the same rally bike but isn’t marketed that way) and he beat them! (And KTM could really have done with a win as Honda have dicked all over them for the last few years…).
  2. Looks good - I’ll follow your progress with the Sany with interest! I’d suggest getting cab guards if sending it out handling timber…
  3. Farkinell!!! I bet that was a bit ‘5p 50p’…! Glad all involved are ok, I was anticipating a tree-felling incident gone wrong story, yours is a bit too real-life though!
  4. How?! Sounds a great story (providing nobody was hurt)…
  5. Took my 12 year old with me today to knock a couple of trees over that had been left because of bird nests - I let him wedge over his first tree and he loved it!
  6. Won’t carry much chip though!
  7. OP - buy a 3 litre Iveco daily. They are the best tow vehicles available.
  8. I wouldn’t worry about it, he’s a right old knacker!
  9. I don’t think it’s a shampoo. You might be better with TFR to get all of that shit out though…
  10. Good news! Who is the dealer, as they sound like complete muppets? The issue was pretty obvious, even for those of us with no experience of anything made by Grillo…
  11. For an ancient old fossil you have a distinct lack of grey hair. Just for men?…
  12. And charge customers like a wounded rhino for your time/knowledge/expertise in situations like this! It’s a no-brainer, get refreshed and upskilled ASAP, it’s a great bolt-on to your existing business.
  13. That’s how we use it, and it’s a brilliant resource!
  14. Check the front wheel arches under the seats and the step area for rust on the Cabstars - they rot quickly in these areas.
  15. Evening all Does anyone have a contact for a hedge flail contractor in Colchester by any chance? I’ve got a day’s work for one next week and would prefer a recommendation rather than take my chances on Google! Cheers, Dan 07970188050
  16. That’s shite Les. Someone local who knows you/the location you of the bike I’d imagine - it’s only been nicked for a bit of a laugh/joyride. Get asking around, offer a reward and go and crack some skulls!…
  17. And you’ll get rats…
  18. £900 to do a job an arthritic lady can do in a day?! Wowsers!!!
  19. Some plans and good info on here mate https://www.barnowltrust.org.uk/barn-owl-nestbox/barn-owl-nestboxes/
  20. Noted - I didn’t realise that sort of feedback was wanted tbh (but it obviously makes sense!)
  21. I’ve used it a bit when working out of area and it is generally great! Had a difficult time with it on a job in Essex recently as all the sites were already full or could only take tiny amounts etc, but it indirectly found us somewhere to tip (someone on the directory’s friend had it). I guess it might be because there are plenty of sites around you maybe, and local tree surgeons already have their outlets organised? If biomass has a decent value in your area then it’s likely that lads will have their own storage and sell it in bulk.
  22. We had an old Vauxhall Combo (which was a terrible van, don’t get one but it proves jmac’s point) that had a home made sump guard and did well on rough forestry tracks. You don’t necessarily need a 4x4 and the additional running costs, and vans offer a bit more security for kit.
  23. I ordered a new Hilux in March - was told I’d have it before Xmas. Now they don’t know when it’s coming!
  24. Not having a 3.5 tonne tipper from day 1 definitely held my business back - get one before pretty much anything else if you are setting up in the tree game in the uk.
