  1. Where did you get the cup?!? I need one of those!!
  2. I've heard that discrepancy in the splices can have a massive impact. Some go through easily and others not so much
  3. The splice is modified so it can be fed into mechanicals. The splice is considerably thinner than a traditional splice
  4. I was going to wear my Hiflex with loads of holes and my Meindls with no soles left. Weather permitting, I might wear a vest as well. I suppose I could put my Cloggers on if I could get a vest to match?
  5. Cloggers are from New Zealand. The Zeros are brilliant trousers. I was given a pair and they're my favourite saw trousers by a long way.
  6. Put the saw lanyard on the top of the saw, not the back. Keeps the bar sticking out away from your legs. I use a Reecoil, mainly because they're awesome and allow you to do this easily and secondly, I think the bloke on the front of the catalogue is inspiring and ruggedly sexy
  7. It's a very expensive process I believe. I think you have to be checked and tested on rope type for each manufacturer. Eg, You couldn't splice Yale double braid if you had been certified to do Samson Double braid
  8. Kiwi Klimbers do but are mega expensive. I just put my foot ascender on loosely, put the spikes on and wiggle the pantin round to get it comfy and tighten it. I'm sure someone will come on and provide a more elegant solution but mine works!!
  9. I hate Poplars. They should all be horizontal. Some pictures from the other day. I also hate Ivy covering cavities in trees as well as dead Ash trees?‍♂️
  10. Sad news. Stay safe out there everyone.
  11. I'll be there. I'll be the guy in chainsaw trousers and Meindls. Say hello if you see me.
  12. Hahaha
  13. Yeah should be fine. There is a website specifically for this kind of thing. I think its called Grinder. Just log on and tell them you have 500 quid to spend, you should get a good number of replies
  14. Like the one Stihl had? 15k if I remember correctly
  15. How much? It looks decent. 3 or 4 figures?
  16. I'll preface this by saying "If its stupid and it works, it isn't stupid" Rubber gloves or similar underneath your normal gloves
  17. Are they cheaper? Must admit that I've not heard of them before
  18. ? Maybe I'm old, but what does this mean?
  19. I really enjoyed that. Lovely set up you have there
  20. I made one and it worked well until it didn't! I found that it was good to ascend but didn't grip consistently and did cause me to drop a few foot. I couldn't get the tether to cinch up tight enough to guarantee that it would bite. I was using the newer zigzag so be interested to see how you get on with it.
  21. He looks comfy in that chair though
  22. I was used to the runner and wrench with a hitchclimber, couldn't get on with sitting back when ascending and the chest harness popping out. I appreciate this could be more of a problem with me than the device ?
  23. I'm not a fan of the new tending point on the Akimbo. The old shackle looks much better
