  2. Wife texts her handyman husband on a cold winter morning: "WINDOWS FROZEN ~ WON'T OPEN" Husband texts back: "GENTLY POUR SOME LUKEWARM WATER OVER THE EDGES AND THEN TAP EDGES SHARPLY WITH HAMMER" Wife texts back 5 minutes later: "LAPTOP REALLY BUGGERED NOW"

  4. Last crane job I did, I gave a helmet with sena comms to the crane driver. So much easier talking to him direct.
  5. Cedar?? As long as it's not moving at the base, just climb it and strip it on the way up, and chog it on the way back down. No space to straight fell?

  11. Only advertise on checkatrade now since ditching yellow pages a couple of years ago. Works great for me, regular flow of new calls from customers finding me through it.

  14. Targets is a name given to anything that might be damaged if the tree / branch fails completely. Might be garden furniture, fences, sheds, cars, buildings even people if in a public area.
  15. You're welcome! Consider removing the tree as they decay quite quickly, unless there are no targets to worry a about.
  16. Piptoporus betulinus - Birch polypore Indicates internal decay.
  17. Does the signature look anything like your wife's? I had an issue once where some bits were missing. Seller said it had been signed for so not their problem. Talking to my wife about it she said she never signed for it, the delivery driver left it on the door step and drove off. Turns out the driver did the signature but it was nothing like mine, so was able to claim. Get a copy of the signature and go from there.
  18. Not sure about just ratchet straps though. What's to stop it sliding around on corners or roundabouts?
  19. Is it remote controlled, can't see anyone driving it! 😂

  22. In our area we have Shaun of M&M Transport who has a new flatbed with a 28m reach hiab. Not seen it yet though.
  23. Saw one just like that earlier!😂 Welcome to the 7.5t club. About time you saw the light!
  24. I've been running a 7.5t truck for the last 20 years, and not once been stopped by vosa or anyone else for that matter.
  25. Tree looks like a Damson - wild plum.
