  1. I'd say more than your average arb transit can tow, looks a beast of a thing!
  2. Even more frustrating when it's police no parking cones with big sign boards up saying do not park and dates which you've had to pay for to be put up! Always some twit who didn't notice them! Had 1 the opposite end a few weeks before Christmas, truck parked on road side and chipper running as ripping out a biggish conifer in the front garden and a woman comes and park right up against the back of the chipper and disappear into a house before I can say anything so could've feed chipper, saving grace is iv a turntable chipper but still made it awkward.
  3. Best you can afford, have a look on any of the site sponsors Web pages and you will find what you need, iv started to use a few bigger ring slings as they are strong and grip well and the outer cover seems to make them last well, the sort used on crane's.
  4. As above Stine rc 2001 would do most of your stuff but a rc3001 would do all, much easier for inexperienced groundys to use than a flying capstan. Get the basic stuff and add to it as you go or as your jobs become more complicated get stuff to do that job, also as you get more experienced you'll get more adventurous and add more systems to make the job easier for you and your staff. Good slings are the way forward, sod all that not tying every time except on big stuff.
  5. The charity housing for parents of sick children at hospital's is the best thing about macdonalds IMO, just ask little green woodchoper, its where he and his wife are stopping while Fred is in hospital. My sister in law works for them as a food technologists working out just how crap they're food is, just put the reg no.idea to her as the tek is in place as it's on your receipt for if you get sent to wate for your meal so the spotty oik knows who to bring it too so wouldn't take a lot to put it on wrapping. Boils my piss seeing people dump litter like that!!!
  6. Wolf box's. Cheaper than peli cases, strong light and stackable. Got a few for heavy rigging stuff, just wish the rc3001 would fit in 1. Also looked at hard shell travel cases in ikea the other day but didn't get 1.
  7. Ian and Liam Botham, bit of stump grinding
  8. When I 1st looked at the pick I thought you ment someone had donated some brash to you to chip for them:rolleyes:as iv had that at least twice where a old bloke starts cutting down something in his garden and wanders across and dumps it next to the chipper, Yes daft place to park but as said would Mrs non practical know any difference?
  9. 100hp min I would say, 6pot engine making the tractor longer so more stable, only ever used botex and forestaria now kesla roof mounts but both good. Big problem I found with the crane on the roof in thinning work was getting it from travel position to the back as always seem to be a tree in the way also when driving through the stand you had to have your wits about you to avoid hitting anything with the crane as you turn. Personally if I were you just extracting thinings I'd stick to a trailer mount as it's not dedicating a tractor to a role so easier to upgrade or borrow something if you're 1 brackets down to keep working.
  10. I'm just down the valley from you at Richmond. Probably a combination of what you said and the fact that a lot were used as pit props and the general conditions in the dales, some lovely cedar's growing in the church ruins half way between us. You'll be looking forwards to the main road being closed for, 6weeks I think, let's hope it doesn't snow in that time as diversion won't be passable again
  11. As said the more you pay the more details you'd hope to get. I've worked off reports that have cost a lot of money and have little information in them and cheap er 1s that were excellent so always worth knowing what you're getting for the money. A visual inspection is quite different from a full report with findings, significances and workable recommendations that a LPA or insurance company will except.
  12. Me too,and a helicopter to open it for me
  13. Where abouts are you based, that thorn is a monster
  14. Farting compost! Never stand down wind of a healthy diet man
  15. Not something I'd like the wife to slip into my salad! Glad we don't find stuff like this in UK back gardens!

  17. Thismornings little fell, love it when you can leave all the mess for someone ells. That lump of trunk worried me a bit at truck was parked in line with where it was headed :eek:
  18. That sir is absolutely without a shadow of a doute a spider!
  19. We is all friends, always ment as banter just not all see it the same. Just thought I'd better let you know I'll be stealing that pobodys perfect line to further confuz my peach inspediment
  20. And that as they say is how it should be! You could pay a lot moreor less for outher makes but but the backup is what sells it to me, also got quadchip so good to hear:thumbup:
  21. Well I'm sorry if you carnt take a bit of light banter but for a thred starter it was a little poor with little indication that you were talking about the crane crew who are obviously extreme athletes in there own right if not slightly unhinged!
  22. Was a link ment to be included? Or are you a pure country boy and the urban connotation freaks you out :what:
