Trees don't just fail during storms, adverse weather can weaken them to a point of failure but not fall till something ells tips the balance eg a particularly fat pigeon landing in the tree. How many times have you felled a Tree for it to get hung up on next to nowt so you walk off to get a felling bar or wedges for the tree to suddenly fall on its own accord when the holding wood/twig snaps from the strain, this can happen within the crown of a tree days after a storm. I have 1st hand experience of this having attended a split Tree in a park, still standing on a carm day and while we were setting up and I was fueling my topper half the tree peeled out and made my job a whole lot easier. Glad I wasn't up it at the time! I'm not saying we need to remove all trees from public areas but removing something identified as high risk is just good practice Imo

I'd go out and my family would understand as a few hrs doing a call out would mean I'd be able to afford a few more DAYS quality time with the children. I never feel charismas day is quality time as its all rip open present quick hello to family then off to the kitchen for me. I much prefer boxing day, much more relaxed! Anyway who is to say a fallen tree on a roadside is not a danger to life, all it takes is a tired family driving home and the unthinkable could happen! Hens why I get called out too clear them! -

Get rid of it. Bracing, bolting and cabaling is a form of admitting there's a problem with the tree and if anything happens a prosecution is more likely. If your client is dead set On retaining the Tree why not recommend an independent arb consultants report then if they recommend any works, you do it following those recommended works your covered.

Sometimes you just don't have a choice but to put stuff on the back, wouldn't want to leave it in overnight but handy to keep stuff out of site while talking to the client, at fuel station etc. Also handy to pull closed while taking a piss in the chip in an emergency. And yes you can fill higher, just takes a little effort

Helps stop the scrots stealing you Kit at the butty van and stuff falling out when your a little full. The outher big use for me is when filling her with the hinzohak I can leave them closed and open the top and get a good load in especially as we can fill it in about 10-15 min.

How do you know.... Got some just little chains onto eyelets on the sides, holds them open when working and chipping also the tailgate won't open unless the doors are right round or it catches on the corners. Problem is they cover up sign righting on the sides when open

Firemen with lots of time on their hands doing a bit of Tree lopping on days off is what's helping wreck this industry! Please feel free to replace firemen with any outher trade you see fit but this is the one that's narked me the most this week! Young lads that turn up just on time then start getting dressed then ask is their a shop on way puss me off also!

Brittax led repeaters front and back and a mini light bar On top in total drawing less than 10amp so low battery drawn. Sparex mini work lamps up top at the back 80lume I think and for the size perfect for reversing at night or call out work without frying Your eye's

Same, just carnt remember who! Some1 in Beverly which is best part of 2hrs from me when Olivers although in a different county is 45min? But then again any problems I've had have been sorted by greenmech hq so far.
