  1. Like this, most of my saws are now run on it so they are marked as a few of the older saws are still on pump fuel, helps the lads remember and if I'm working with someone new it is a warning to them.
  2. Just swapped the stop switch on my 390xp for 1 off a t540xp so no more forgetting to turn the saw on Normal things like bars, chains, sprockets not standard. Put hinges on the quadchips covers so can't loose them.
  3. At least modern trousers are not like what we had to put up with as a student in the 90's. Remember them origon and husky sleeping bags that were the best around, you had trouble climbing into the van nevermind a tree but they did offer good padding under spikes which was the only good thing about them.
  4. It's recommend I believe now for type c for aerial work but must be risk assessmented for type a say under the risk of heat fatigue being a problem but must be recorded as such. Think that's how it is anyhow
  5. Quite cool, always wanted to do something like that, say 48hrs up some big trees for charity. But in summer!!
  6. Was that recently Andrew because I know of just that this Jan near me, a professional thinings contractor ended up in theatre having muscles re attached, be lucky to walk right again by the sound of it! Type c for me unless it gets very hot like last summer then I swapped to type b for climbing work. Trousers aren't there for the 100's of shhh that was close they are there for the time something go's wrong and you find out the kevlar material works.
  7. That is not good news, when I was in the market for my new chipper I found orange plant faceless and almost impossible to deal with for timberwolf so discarded them and delt with greenmech so much better and I fully agree David oliver is such a nice bloke to deal with for both parts and machinery hire especially 1or2 day hires, early pick up and next morning drop off as apposed to 8am collection and back by 4.30 or another day charged from the big corporate orange machine.
  8. Nice timber josh but nicer little crane, I want! Got some big welly to mill soon so hope I get the colour you have burrel .
  9. Yes, well sort of, had it put on by someone who knows what they are doing. But I did make the box for the landy myself after mark 1 ply box split apart full of chip half way home 1day
  10. Better be quick, becoming popular and they ain't making no more
  11. The Rb44 before it was sign written, and the landy a little full, this load did not go on the public highway before any starts, just wanted to c how much we could get in.
  12. No chance, got to sit holding the saw upright between my legs but that's because my knees are shot and had half of 1 kneecap out so bit lacking in bend. Might be ok doing it that way with a 088 on a cold day to warm your nether region
  13. Good luck that lad, you've had a good start now make the most if it  If I ever get my but in action and organise a rec climb down here you'd be made very welcome and prob show me up
  14. That looks good johny, a few places I chip biomass for use loaders to fetch timber too me and most use muck grabs which are a PITA as timber gets stuck on the tines, will save that pick and show them as much better and I guess a lot cheaper than a full on log grab from say hawkfork or the orange 1 from Riko. What sort of price was it?
  15. Mad lad for being up a windblown in 1st place! Bet his mates found it more funny than he did
  16. Father in law has it bad among other things, tried all the tablets didn't help, redbush t was a no go! Now on manuco honey from holend and barrot, spoonful everyday, taste nice even on toast etc and he is so much better even back out irritating the golf course which was impossible for quite a while.
  17. Yes bruks is north Yorkshire based so transport would be a fortune.
  18. I'd say more than your average arb transit can tow, looks a beast of a thing!
  19. Even more frustrating when it's police no parking cones with big sign boards up saying do not park and dates which you've had to pay for to be put up! Always some twit who didn't notice them! Had 1 the opposite end a few weeks before Christmas, truck parked on road side and chipper running as ripping out a biggish conifer in the front garden and a woman comes and park right up against the back of the chipper and disappear into a house before I can say anything so could've feed chipper, saving grace is iv a turntable chipper but still made it awkward.
  20. Best you can afford, have a look on any of the site sponsors Web pages and you will find what you need, iv started to use a few bigger ring slings as they are strong and grip well and the outer cover seems to make them last well, the sort used on crane's.
  21. As above Stine rc 2001 would do most of your stuff but a rc3001 would do all, much easier for inexperienced groundys to use than a flying capstan. Get the basic stuff and add to it as you go or as your jobs become more complicated get stuff to do that job, also as you get more experienced you'll get more adventurous and add more systems to make the job easier for you and your staff. Good slings are the way forward, sod all that not tying every time except on big stuff.
  22. The charity housing for parents of sick children at hospital's is the best thing about macdonalds IMO, just ask little green woodchoper, its where he and his wife are stopping while Fred is in hospital. My sister in law works for them as a food technologists working out just how crap they're food is, just put the reg no.idea to her as the tek is in place as it's on your receipt for if you get sent to wate for your meal so the spotty oik knows who to bring it too so wouldn't take a lot to put it on wrapping. Boils my piss seeing people dump litter like that!!!
  23. Wolf box's. Cheaper than peli cases, strong light and stackable. Got a few for heavy rigging stuff, just wish the rc3001 would fit in 1. Also looked at hard shell travel cases in ikea the other day but didn't get 1.
  24. When I 1st looked at the pick I thought you ment someone had donated some brash to you to chip for them:rolleyes:as iv had that at least twice where a old bloke starts cutting down something in his garden and wanders across and dumps it next to the chipper, Yes daft place to park but as said would Mrs non practical know any difference?
