  1. Your pulling tomorrow s tree over Paul Bring that new harness tomorrow as forgot to have a shufty today. sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
  2. Apart from last night's rain making access for the trucks a little interesting couldn't have asked for a better day for it. You get some cracking photos today bud, like the 1 of pudding the mad lab basking in the sun. Everything was just that little bit awkward with this 1, decay, big timber, no rigging, expensive rought iron fence under it, replacement tree growing nicely where it all wanted to fall and a steep wet slippy sheep poo hillside under it. I's like a challenge! Boys on the floor had this season's 1 green fly to keep em company and lots of em. sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
  3. Customer also turned out to be a champion brash dragger and kept the whole place tidy, even helped with a bit of rigging and truly enjoyed himself. Paul was a star just floating stuff away from me all day on the rigging and apart from a few BIG drops of rain a very enjoyable day. Now for another dodgy 1 today, big hollow sycamore! sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
  4. Remember to fetch it along tomorrow Paul so I can have a gander, me like shiny new things to look at. sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
  5. The red 1, I'm in love <3@):-<3 sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
  6. You can guarantee 1 thing about these shows that whatever you have the least of will generally sell best then you take more of these next time and they don't go but what didn't last time so less with you fly off the stand, fickleness of the public! sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
  7. Ty, that's a common 1 around here as well with stumps but I always am careful to add in the quote that the price for the stump only applies if I cut the tree down and is accepted at the same time as the tree price, non of this calling up 3 month later saying can we have rid of the stump now that's sat in the middle of a bomb crater that I'd struggle to get a hurricane grinder too. Had a few can you chip for us... . Turned out to be a bonfire of singed conifer covered in oil from them trying to burn it, no thanks!! sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
  8. I like the little well timed flick of the line on the first few bits to hop the wall, guess you need a well built groundy to get the best from this system but already planning where I can use this slight mod on how I normally rig a zip on upcoming jobs. Thanks reg, always an education. sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
  9. I have 1 in the pouch on my harness but nowhere near like your set up,just a small petzle folding knife. Those boots would do my nut in must take 5 min to lace the things up on a morning! sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
  10. Think his tshirt reads Darwin awards approved contractors sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
  11. Shear genius, the rubber tires will insulate him from the power line next too the tree :-B sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
  12. He's giving you your own key to the house to put on it? Or you dropped it in the river but it floated so saved your keys? :-P The obvious is too obvious to be obvious so obviously it can't be the obvious I think? sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
  13. Just took 2 too test the water so to speak and was a flat know so will try the recycling bin next week, owts better than land fill! sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
  14. Eddie, you say fully recyclable cans, I have around 40 at the back of my garage where they get lobed when empty, do you want em back as local tip said I couldn't put them in the plastic recycling skip as they had a combustible in once? sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
  15. Gave my woodchuck duel a bit of a try yesterday and was amazed at how easy it grips the timber, didn't really need to turn much but worked well for freeing a trapped saw. Excellent tool, thanks Rob. Might get a foot for it off you at the show. sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
  16. 2nd best purchase you've made after the harness itself, just wip the old 1 off and velcro the new 1 on and the difference is instant especially when you've got a lot of clobber hanging off you. sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
  17. Now now non of that on this friendly thred sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
  18. Nice! You got shot of hilux and BMW for something more practical? sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
  19. Ouch, that could have been nasty if it had landed on top of the cab. So onto crane number 3 tomorrow then;-) sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
  20. That's a bit like my house august, toy chainsaws and trucks everywhere. Nothing like the welcome home from a happy child after a hard day. sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
  21. That's a lot of machine for 25hp to be charge off! Bet the fuel economy isn't too good. Looks a well built bit of kit having said that. sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
  22. Careful still can end up with a finger that looks like a bum and has no feeling in it! sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
  23. Was going to quote rover as I like the stile of that. I always say to lads come have a day with us and see how we get on and purposely book in a bit of a crappy job like clearing thorn or a long drag job too see how they stick it, get them away from the you tube image of tree work that's all coaching stuff down and spectacular locations. Amy I hope you get to where you want too be, and having read this thread you sound the type that will make it happen. Keep it up. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  24. What non of my daring balancing act of precision crashing bits off the tree :'( Thanks for the help again Paul, twas a good day, perfect weather, lovely setting, interesting tree and home made cheese scons from the lady in the house sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
  25. As Stephen says use a redirect if you can and take it steady, if you can get a few easy 1s first and lay them across the bottom of the hill as a brake to slow down any runaways before they get to you. A run away role can be worse than a slide as more likely to bounce and less likely to dig in and stop. sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.
