Always come across as enthusiastic to do the extras and say it's no problem at all ill get it sorted for them , then add ow befor I start that do you require it itemising separately on the invoice or a separate invoice for the extra work all the while smiling, normally gets the point across. Think we have made the biggest change to it but hopefully it means it can remain part of the landscape and promote some replanting. Thanks for the use of the valtra, made shifting the 10 - 15 ton of timber a lot easier, don't think the job would have been feasible if we'd had to carve it all up into manhandled bits and cart it off in trailers. Hope you have room for all that timber in your yard, shame most of it is too full of cracks, shake and decay to be milled but will make some nice smelling logs. sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.

Hope this makes sence the way I write it. It's better to over price a job and not get it than underprice a job where you actually loos money, be stressed, rush, take shortcuts to save time, make a mistake, get hurt or hurt someone ells, and end up not being able to work for longer. When you do mess up a price, and you will, we all do, just carry on like you haven't and hope a good job priced comes from someone seeing you. As outhers have said know what you need to charge then work out what you want to charge and the right price is normally in the middle. Best of luck with going it alone, it's hard work but worth it! You certainly have a knack for getting good pictures Before the chestnut was stripped it had far too much wate back over the buildings to be felled even with the help of the mighty rb44. Quoting my kiwi friend "give a lazy man a hard job and he will find a easy way to do it!" mine is hydraulic power ;-) sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.

Cheaper by quite a bit, in my opinion chip better and smoother but chip quality is lower with lots more chunky bits amongst it. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk

Had a cracking day today good job, good equipment and top quality staff just makes everything work ! Had silky on the ropes gently floating half ton lumps of chestnut ground-wards, matty chipping like a trooper and Paul from pwm platforms just putting me where I needed to be hardly without any communication needed, how it should be! It's a lovely disco that 1, I think it's a 8speed auto box in it so drags that 3.4 ton lump around effortlessly . Get some photos of the cadre 'reduction' up Paul or are you saving them for tomorrow? Satternblades might be only be half the price but I've found that you probably only get half the life that genuine blades get as they are of a harder mettle so chip quite badly rather than becoming dull for easy re sharpening. Had two sets in my quadchip and now just stick to the genuine things and considering the price of them against the fact you affect ivy get 3 turns before replacing in my mind it's good value. The biggest saving I've made in blades is good groundsman education i.e. Stop raking up a gravel drive and using the chipper to load it onto the van, give conifer a bit of a shake before putting it in after a long drag so any nasty picked up on the way fall off etc. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk

24m tracked MEWP booked for Thursday, plenty of hands so mostly standing about holding lowering lines or a bit of quadchip feeding for you. Hopefully it'll be dryer than last time I was on this site and sunk the rb on the football pitch, oops! Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
