  1. Cree led's are good jon, got some 7"ones on the landy and looking at getting more for the rest of the vehicles. We have a biggish landy show between Rippon and harrogate in may so hopefully pick up some show price deals.
  2. Grate vid, love the tunes. Looks slippy stuff the way the bark peals of it?
  3. Run your saw on aspen and have no more worries, just stick it on the shelf till you need it next.
  4. Still say a container on rubber pads and a electric fence generator inside wired up to the door and clad the rest in timber, the way mine will be set up only the door will be exposed and all hinges and locks are on the inside so nothing easy to cut. Considering combo locks so the numbers can be changed for whatever reason like falling out with a member of staff who has keys and could easily get in and course a lot of problems.
  5. Pete seeing your 130 makes me want to get mine done now, don't chip into it often as mostly trailer puller or carrying the grinder but that looks smart!
  6. Minimum a Buckinghams flying capstan next a rc capstan but ideally a fixed bollard even if it's the smaller rc2001 you won't regret the investment and it'll last for years when you need it.
  7. It would be interesting to see some pictures of the extent of the decay during the autopsy if it go's ahead.
  8. Like that 1:thumbup: Last time I got a window seller call me in the office I Google postcode for broadmoor prison and gave them that when asked and said that'd be my permanent residence for the next 10years, dizzy fool never twigged that they had called on a landlines with an area code no where near that place ;-)
  9. No reason why you couldn't put the kenlow infront of the radiator to force extra air through when needed and put some vent holes in the sides of the bonnet to let hot air out.
  10. A large chipper will only fill it quickly if you chip everything it'll take but fill it exactly the same as smaller machine but with less run time if you only chip what you need to. The set up you are talking about gives you a very varied capable setup if you expect to get work requiring you to leave the road but if you do mostly towny trees then not the most ideal 1.
  11. Got 1 on my 200tdi jon and got a switch on dash to turn it on, rare it gets used, normally only very hot days with a big load and lots of hills to pull up.

    New Vehicle

I couldn't go back to just running 1 vehicle now, just handy having 2 to spred the load or while 1 is off being emptied work can continue filling the second even if just with logs or carrying gear or stump grinder, having 2 very often means a 3 man a day job with 1 going back on day 2 to grind or collect timber is finished in 1 day with the same 3 men or I can go off pricing at the end of the day while the lads head back to unload
  13. No point, landrover...... Would have had to drive 20mile just to start getting warm. ;-)
  14. It was the 'you are due compensation from a recent accident ' person I kept going for a while. But then went all Mr paranoid conspiracy theories voices in the walls on them. Soon told me I was beyond her help and hung up, never had another call as I think I'm down as "nutter do not call" on the system. Twas very funny for all in van as had it on speaker ;-)
  15. Just manned up and got on with it, rather have the sun as must have ended up on my arse at least 3 times dragging brash up that little slope!
  16. Sat having lunch in t shirts, glorious sunshine then within 10min this!
  17. Wish I had a spare 6.5k for that, the way old landys are selling with them not making any more is only going to increase in value as long as condition is good.
  18. I use the 18mm stuff cut into 2ft squares as outrigger pads on cherrypicker after destroying ply ones in about a fortnight. And have about 6 6mm ones as ground protection, excellent stuff!
  19. Sod ply, splash out a bit more and get stock board (the black plastic stuff) initially more expensive but virtually indestructible and won't splinter or soak up water, easy to clean off and flexible to mold to ground contours.
  20. What works for 1 is crap for another be it type of clients, local access, topographic and money available and what's available locally to hire in when needed.
  21. Looks tidy and professional, like that You'll be taking a trailer I guess for excess grinding or are you hoping to mostly sub to others and let them do the tidy up?
  22. Must have just mist you as called to see what was there just before lunch Some of that cedre and chestnut would fit your new chipper as well to get yard tidied up.
  23. Like mike I'd have that in my house but the wife would think practically and mutter on about cleaning.
  24. The new husky hi viz is very good, had to get 1 as I forgot my helmet 1 day but saw shop was just down road so got 1 to try and even better than the old 1ns.
