  1. The dreaded orange plant, wish I could justify one of these as it's a real money maker if you get the jobs for it as what it destroys in an hour could take a day with a lesser machine.
  2. Thanks, thanks a whole bunch, now I have a reason to need 1 ;-) Next time I'm in remind me ;-)
  3. Transits never did have a long lived clutch, always thought they should have a gear below 1st for setting off with a arb load on ;-)
  4. Evil old lime stumps from yesterday, photos don't show quite how big they were but 5 of them all at least 3ft tall and full of crap so no reducing with a saw, glad all the grinding were stopping on site!
  5. Ah there my problem I don't have a grandad licence to drive it and am too tight to do HGV just for odd times to drive it.
  6. Collage! Done.
  7. 22 or 24 can't quite remember jon, very stable machine and the driver is good crack and loves coming out doing tree stuff but refused to be in basket with me wielding the 088 last time, think a 36"bar scared him a bit ;-)
  8. Good platform that 1 Paul and the driver is a top bloke as well!
  9. And it'll help stop the electrolysis between the steel and alloy which causes the bubbles of oxidisation. Looking good phas :-)
  10. Big congratulations from out house to you my friend, hope mother and son are both doing well and well done on a home birth.
  11. Not the flip flops! Should be a law against such things except on the beach! Not normal for a bank holiday Monday to be this nice, almost wish I was working to do some reductions in the warm and dry.
  12. Sorry for slightly De railings the op's thred, was going to start mine today on this and just stole yours
  13. Hmm yes, could be fun over the next few months. Getting so sick of this council recently where a person with no arb related qualifications is making these decisions and in not just my opinion making some bad calls! Like my pre mentioned sycamore/lime mix up, refusing the removal of a **** sycamore because she was looking at a lovely lime even though the report had both photos and plan showing the correct tree. In the case of the main tree I'm talking about my client is actually an independent planning consultant(industrial developments) so has quite a good handle on the planning process and I'm just filling in the arb words for him, could get fun. Anyone know if "managing it's graceful decline" is actually a recognised term for trees within the urban environment as think I must have dozed of for that one at uni. Could respect it in veteran parkland trees with minimal exposure to persons.
  14. I'm sort of wanting them to serve a tpo on it so that we can appeal against it (which I presume costs the council money) which with luck will show up there incompetency and lack of understanding of the tpo reg's. Until recently the planning officer that deals with trees didn't realise new tpo reg's had come out and at another recent sight meeting misidentified a lime as the sycamore we were applying to remove.
  15. Well the tree is on its way out and the council have admitted as much by wanting us to, I quote "manage it's graceful decline". It's riddled with ustulina and had deep decay cavities, and last year the leaf structure was very small and opaque compared to surrounding trees. The independent consultant who came out as part of the appeal stop just short of saying the council's poor paperwork was a joke! But what I want to know is would they have the gonads to tpo this tree now that they have admitted it has no long term future and is in a position where person and property is at high risk of damage or harm.
  16. Got a similar 1 on the go at the moment where a removal of a tpo tree was refused as LPA didn't agree with the need to remove, we appealed to which the reply was that it wasn't actually covered by a tpo due to being plotted incorrectly and misidentified so now applying as conservation area notification. Will let you know how it go's.
  17. Not many grinders would cope with a stump that high unless you went real big like a 7015 which is what I'm having to get in to do some real big ugly high stumps next week. Just got a Hb20 but if funds had allowed the extra would have seriously consider the jo beau especially since global are now the dealer and not btrac. Very nice looking set up with the landy jess, look very pro.
  18. Looks some interesting stuff in that vid but don't like the look of how the crab is loaded at the 3 min mark with the double rope thingy.
  19. Got a link to that? Sounds a awesome deal even if it only lasts a couple of years...
  20. Yeh, like torture boots, awesome grip and good with spikes but for some reason you always ended up walking half off the heal, wife still has a pair for odd times she uses a saw. I'm tooo tight to get her anything nicer/lighter. ;-)
  21. Also hate it because you end up slogging your arse round the tree for hrs and the client comes out and looks at how much you have cut out and normally says "is that all you've cut" or something similar, they seem to feel cheated that you haven't produced a full vanload for there money.
  22. The one I got from Rico for my rb to run, only occasionally used when costumers want to keep some of the logs, all done for less than a k.
  23. Windy as hell today so scheduled job cancelled so off to a smaller job but didn't get much done before off to a callout. Didn't just wipe out a powerline but snapped the pole clean off luckily all we needed to do was clear the highway.
  24. A pink Hb20 to be auctioned off for charity :-o
  25. No worries, feel free to use them. New teeth were good and just got 2 more sets for it. Little problem with throttle jumping off but think I've sorted that and choke was sticking on but that's sorted and very pleased with the machine.
