Its an arada, ecoburn 11. 11kw, takes 500mm logs. Made in devon!

Was told that I had to go 1.5m above the gutter. Seems to work ok. the perspex roof does not touch the chimney, there is about 25mm gap all round. Have had the stove really hot, with no ill effect. Installed the external air vent yesterday, just the c02 monitor then get it signed off.

You are not being a skinflint at all. I got fed up with the silly quotes and advice from hetas big heads, so I did it myself. I had to put a whole chimney in, and it took a day and a half with two of us. I will in fact be posting pictures in the firewood forum. its easy if you have an exisiting chimney. You just drop a liner down, attach to the stove, seal the gap, add a cowl, test then get it signed off. I have done three like that for other people.

I have a three way tip on my cabstar, and I was going to fit a tipmaster swinglift up against the bulkhead, but was deterredbu the extra weight it adds, plus when its full of woodchip, I could see it getting jammed up round its legs

Whats the trick for emptying log bags. I have the vented ones with tipping hooks, but cannot seem to get the hang of it. I manage one fork through one loop and lift it, but it only tips it half out, cannot seem to fathom how to do it

Excuse my ignorance, when you tie on each branch and send it down, how do you get the strops back again for reuse and how many do you have attached to you at the start??

Ian, I was driving along one day and both my rear wheels started to come off. It wrote off the wheels, and nearly the studs. The garage said it only happens for one reason, someone undid them, probably out of malice or jealousy, not sure which. The truck was six months old!!

When I looked at the job, I assumed stupidly all the logs were sound. Could never imagine why anyone would keep rotten bits. no I did not have a spare chain. I also considered charging him an extra 20, which was double the value of the logs in the first place. He is one of those people who only use one end of the telephone

today i did a job i priced up a few weeks back, removing some conifers, pruning overhang and he asked me to cut up and chop some logs he had scavenged from the golf club. there was a pile on a pallet, and another pile in the back garden in the undergrowth. Did everything, but when it came to cutting the logs, the ones in the undergrowth pile i sorted as the top ones were fine, but the others were so rotten, you could stick your hand through them, and they were covered in soil. The customer at the end of the job asked why i had not cut those, and i showed him how rotten they were. he still insisted he could burn them, and i exclaimed that it was futile attempting it. He still wanted me to cut them, and i protested as i did not want to damage my nice sharp saw chain. He still insisted, and said" ok you are making excuses not to do it" muttering "i will have to take this into consideration. Was i in my rights to refuse to cut them, they really were bad! I have half a mind to give him two nets worth of logs (which is about what the logs totaled) just to shut him up. to top it all, not one offer of a tea all day

Was that near golden valley by chance.? I could hear that from my yard today! Sounded like the blades were blunt:confused1: why sometimes burn and other times chip? Looks like its chipping all over the grass!!

Correct pete. In fact, the black and decker electric domestic shredders have the same feature, but it did not stop one of my old customers putting her hand up the exit chute to unblock it whlst the motor was running, with the obvious finger loss!

One of the exhaust mounting bolts sheared on one of my kubota engines, just out of warranty (I think a hirer smashed a digger into the side of the exhaust). The stud broke off, and I had to remove the engine to drill it out. Problem is, in doing so its knackered the thread, just wondering if any of you guys have tried this liquid metal stuff with good results. I would helicoil it, but have put the engine back in for now to get the machine back out on hire, as its removal is an hours job each way. Its an air cooled oc95

My crusher kept doing this. I thought it was overfilled with oil, which it could be in your case, as it gets hot, the exvess bubbles out. Turned out in my case the pressure valve was faulty, and needed new seals

Had a blocked fuel filter on my truck years ago that caused the engine to produce white smoke

good luck. Everyone round here keeps it to sell as firewood. I have yet to find a tree surgeon in this area who gives away his wood. you could try peacock tree ecology, he is based in tring at icknield way, or paul lyons (he is on arbtalk) as he is in tring, but i doubt its free
