  1. Been keeping an eye on those piles in gaddesden. Nice to see a good bonfire. Always good to have burn up!
  2. you will see the ground conditions were quite wet when I moved this 6m long shed, and it coped fine. It has a switch to turn off four wheel drive if you need to
  3. Thats not quite the idea. The extra length is useful for reaching over the top of extra wide hedges. Most of my customers always end up cutting their tops when the neighbour doesnt bother, and as a result, the hedges get wider and wider. The fine cut hedgecutter will not do laurel, so its not a question of hacking back growth, although i do use it for that without issue
  4. I have the 520, and its a dream to use, drive and has revolutionised my business, and has made me money. I have lifted some heavy loads with mine, and the pivot steer does mean it can tip up a bit when turning, but you soon get used to it. I have pallet forks, bucket, grab, sweeper, jib boom and firewood processor for mine. I really want the next size up, but need to save first
  5. Have you tried the big sites in redbourn, especially tullochside?
  6. HA! thanks. its my garage at home which i am currently clearing out and converting the back as an offfice to free up a bedroom ready for a new arrival in april dont normally keep any tools here yes it is an 85 i get discombobulated sometimes. still not sure why they dropped this length but not the fine cut?
  7. hope this clears up the confusion!
  8. thats confused me now as one dealer told me the husky was rough cut, obviously not! Looks like I am back to the stihl then:sneaky2:
  9. yes, but thats fine cut. I have that model. I need the rough cut one, for laurel, hawthorn etc. Why stihl dropped it is beyond me. Will look at echo
  10. Typical. They know and we know who is responsible. Be nice to catch them
  11. Any joy with the police? How long before they arrived?
  12. I prefer single sided cutting, with the handle on the cutter bar design. Plus, its only 30". Need to match 40 that im used to ideally.
  13. Thats terrible. I am not too far away, so will keep an eye out and hope they dont come for me. Ashridge college got done twice, so they must be in the area
  14. I currently have a stihl hs86 with a 40inch bar, for rough cutting. I.e. not the fine blade. stihl in their infinate wisdom no longer do a bar that length unless its for fine trimming. I need to replace it, and was wondering if the husqvarna equivalent was worth a punt?
  15. can you go there and tip green waste. I have been using reviva, but they are just rude ignorant people too big for their boots. Do they take fencing?
  16. How are you allowed in the tip? Commercial is banned isnt it? We have a green waste site, I can load up my truck with greedy boards, £30. Tend to do lots of hedgecutting jobs in a row
  17. i don't bother separating it out. It gets conveyor-ed into the tonne bags, and delivered with the logs. never had a complaint yet, in fact one customer was pleased with the smaller bits as she used it to light the fire!
  18. I would not chip anything bigger than 3" anyway as I keep the logs
  19. I was thinking about getting a pto chipper for my 32hp kubota, and was considering the greenmech. It uses tractor hydraulics and seems well built. Any pros and cons?
  20. Itsjust the battery life, everything else is the same!
  21. Thats the cheaper one that does not have a long battery life. Get the 80-100 one.
  22. i had one of those trackers once that the police can trace. Waste of money. the damn thing drained the machines battery after a couple of days, you couldnt tell if it was working, and it had to be fitted by them and they always drilled holes and ran cables where you wouldnt want them. at least the one i use is transferrable to anything at anytime! as already said, track it yourself and deal with it. another top tip if you are being robbed. call the fire brigade and say your place is on fire. you get 6 burly guys to help then, not some pcso!!
  23. yes, but will you sell parts without a serial number under any circumstances??
  24. Rewire security. They sell them on ebay. Around 100 quid. I will look their details up
