  1. Brushcutter, is that work for rod wilson or the ashridge crew?
  2. Will I be able to see it at saltex?
  3. I saw it and asked for the year and serial number. It was not forthcoming, so I reported to ebay who as usual did nothing. I sold a chipper to a guy with 350 hours on it, who sold it on ebay with only 25. He had clocked it, and I reported this to ebay, who did nothing. They are useless in stopping this kind of scam. I brought my avant on ebay, but it was a genuine seller with good feedback, an adressnand landline phone. I suspect your machine was stolen, probably by the same gang who nicked my crusher
  4. I think if they tried to rob our house, they would leave a donation on the way out!
  5. Luckily no. I have a secure yard, and I never allow anyone to collect from there. They know my home address, but I keep nothing of value here.
  6. Yes it has been suggested. A mate has left a message for them to agree to pay them hard cash, but they have not come back to him. I suspect they will see the machine has gone tomorrow when they go to the market, and they will realise they have lost.
  7. Just read this thread from the start. I feel for you. I have been hiring out mini crushers for 10 years now, and still I get the odd problem that baffles me that I have to call on the engineer from the supplier to fix. Luckily, they are fantastic, and as a result, my knowledge of fault finding and problem solving have improved. sounds to me like you almost need to be there when they take it apart to see for yourself what the problem might be for future reference. please keep us up to date with the developments
  8. Just to say the rules have changed on fitting tippers. Its all vosa approved and signed off now, so whilst you can take it anywhere, you will have to wait for it to be signed off before it can be insured and on the road. I found this out when I brought a nissan cabstar double cab chassis, and sent if to vfs in southampton. Three week wait for the paperwork
  9. I like it, though shame to waste a good sharp chain on lowlife. thanks to everyone on here for their comments and support, it may well have had an effect on the scumbags who realised they could never sell on. My facebook page got 4500 shares, so its propogated out there nicely. Cheers guys
  10. 75 miles. about 6 miles from the "bogus" address, not far from a travellers site!
  11. yes indeed. got to cancel the insurance payout now!!
  12. GREAT NEWS! I got a phone call today from a guy who owns an industrial unit, to ask if i knew my crusher was parked up with the trailer round the back of one of his units. He read the serial number off to me, so it hadn't been ground off. It was dumped there two weeks ago, and he thought one of the other tenants had hired it, but once he enquired with everyone, it was clear it was not hired. I raced up there with a colleague, and to my amazement, it was just as i left it tied down on the trailer, full of fuel, same hours on the clock. They had stolen the key, and ripped off the sign from the back, but thrown it into the trailer. I had to drill the lock on the trailer hitch as they had the only key. I had just ordered a new trailer, but since i was going to replace it anyway, i will sell the old one on ebay. WHAT A RESULT!! just need to cancel the insurance payout
  13. Clean the end of the sensor that controls the no stress. My chipper did something similar and this cured it, though its not a jensen
  14. I had the same problem. It was a broken release solenoid. Cost about 50 quid from an online hydraulic spares. When the tipper is up, you sometimes have to press the up quickly followed by the down to get it to lower. When its fully down, if you press the down button, you should hear a faint click from the solenoid. If you do, then its working ok, somit coild be a stuck valve.
  15. I have the stv 32, no cab and want to upgrade to the stv40, with a cab. How do you get on with it? Nice to have some heat in the winter, but I am concerned I may cook in the summer when grass cutting. oh, and one thing not mentioned, those chinese tractors are manual, not hydro. Thats a big difference
  16. Kubota all the way. Hold value and mega reliable. forget chinese rubbish, it will cost you more in the long run
  17. nope, one of the "thieves" is asking me to part with £1700 and then they will tell me where it is! insurance company can take it from here. Machine will surface eventually, just a waiting game now.
  18. no one called jez. Would be good to speak to the victim direct though?? I am being asked to pay £1700 to a bank account in exchange for information leading to its whearabouts! the police will still not take action
  19. i would be grateful if any of you guys are on facebook to like my page and share it? we can propogate this theft all over the country then https://www.facebook.com/concretecrusherhire Waiting for a PI to get back to me who lives near to find out if the address is real:001_smile:
  20. Why is my last word starred? I didnt swear!
  21. It was supposed to be bacs, but it didnt come through and stupidly I did not check as I have no access to email at work. They said as I handed over the goods to him with a signed hire agreement, it was my responsibility to check his authenticity. I had an address, phone number and an official email order. From now on, as said previously, two forms of id, payment up front with a card, and proof of insurance. Plus my mate takes pictures of their vehicles when he drops off the machine. Bloody ******
  22. Oh, and I got no crime number as a result, so the insurance have no reference. Great
  23. Yes its a hotmail address, and the phone is liker mobile, registered overseas. police arrived 30 hours after reporting, went away, and came back an hour later saying they cannot investigate as its a civil matter. Its up to me to chase him for the unpaid hire fees accrued the whole time its on hire to him. they wont even tell me if his address is kosher. Insurance have not contacted me yet, but they are aware. had to do my own investiagtions, and I got hold of the guy who collected it. Honest bloke who runs a man and van service, who was paid 120 cash to collect it and deliver to a rugby club in yaxley. since this theft is the same guy who stole three machines off my supplier, you would have thought they would want to investigate it. I have no faith in the police service anymore.
  24. Slightly concerned by why all the diffetent colours on that digger and some missing panels? Is it a cut and shut?
