  1. Hire a chipper and you would get most of it into a skip. Then offer the logs on freecycle
  2. great. I would make one for the tractor. Ideally one that can do 2-3' logs. How do i source the ram and components may i ask and what sort of cost did you have to stump up? how did you make the splitting wedge?
  3. what kind of tonnage is this? i admire anyone with the skill to do this sort of thing. Would a gasless mig be man enough to weld something like this?
  4. The hydraulic pipes are sometimes held onto the boom with clips that bolt into a gromit. You can simply make a bracket up to slot behind the pipes that the bolt can then go through from the clip. might juts need a longer bolt.
  5. Ford and mazda are the same company, so fords will have the same trouble
  6. I never use a stump grinder. Always dig them out. That way, all roots gone, and the customer gets the ground dug over Fixed grip talon, and a ripper tooth make this machine really powerful!
  7. Can we do something about the pictures posting twice???
  8. I would not buy ifor out of choice. Brian james, followed by indespension. Ifor williams have the most pathetic locks on the hitch possible, all thats needed is a flat blade screwdriver and its busted. The indespension have a triplelock. I lost a key to mine once and tried to drill the lock out. It took me a couple of hours. I agree about the tipper problems. It has a channel at the back that constsntly gets filled with crap, along with poor welds, and silly catches on the mesh kit
  9. I brought a trailer off a guy who sold it as plus vat, and he would not supply me a vat invoice to reclaim the vat. I tried to report it to hmrc and they did not want to know. What a waste of time
  10. How come the pictures are displayed twice. I notice it keeps happening
  11. ebay are quick enough to take money out of your account and give it back to a buyer if there is a dispute, so they should do the same when someone doesn't pay. it shouldn't be one rule for one and another for someone else
  12. Ebay are con artists. Sold dads top of the range keyboard for mum when he died. Got 800. Buyer never paid, ignored all emails. Ebay did nothing. Said I could re list it for free. How generous. Second time round it made look only 300. Mum was quite upset. I wanted to take the non payer to court, but ebay woukd not supply his details. my advice. Empty your paypal account, and remove your registered cards so ebay cannot take money.
  13. Its an stv32. Its not got enough oil flow to run the machine effectively, its only running the conveyor. The avant is running the splitter.
  14. this is my setup. Japa processor running on an avant. Then i made up some brackets to accept the conveyor from the shredder so the logs can load into tonne bags. Need to somehow get the conveyor to run off the avant hydraulics rather than the tractor cuttersplitter_zpsff4d5ac3.mp4 Video by dig-dug-dan | Photobucket
  15. How do you decide if its cost effective to use a crane? Surely another company will quote without and will be much cheaper. I like the bit where the saw got stuck. I was waiting for the jib up signal:001_smile:
  16. Get an eliet. It wont fire chips with a fancy chute, but it has a unique chopping mechanism wich means it will also shred
  17. I have been researching myself if there is an alternative to my cabstar, which I have just ordered a new double cab and will send it off for the tipper body to be fitted. I tried to see if there was a better alternative to suit my needs, and the answer was no. the cabstar is the only double cab tipper you can actually remove the rear seats totally to get a flat flor space for tool storage, its one of the few that can tow 3.5 tonne, has the most powerful engine, and was at a sensible price. The only fly in the ointment is the fact that I wanted built in sat nav, but nissan are saying no despite it being an option in all their literature and website
  18. When they say that, they expect a freebie. If they were really handy with a kettle and the biscuit tin, I would show leniency, but otherwise charge the going rate.
  19. When I need to get rid of chip I offer it on freecycle. Try doing that for that area. Specify tipped load, or they expect you to barrow it to their back I garden for free
  20. It is a scam. I saw an avant loader on scumtree, and I contacted the buyer. He sent me the same response word for word, about a year ago
  21. How long did that take. Looks impressive
  22. Did it stop the chipper, or did you stop it?
  23. Are there different rules to burning in ireland as to england, as I know here you can burn on the site where the tree was removed, but not if you burn it elsewhere
  24. Hodge, what did you think of the nifty. I had one in hire for a similar job and was really impressed. The engine cowling does not like branches being dropped on it
