  1. yes and no. my kit came with a remote control and a laser finder. If its really bright, the finder will bleep when it finds the spinning beam, so you can still identify it. It also has a function where the spinner will pulse back and forth quick to give a red line instead of a dot, and thats easy to see:001_smile:
  2. I have the older model 525+. Wouldnt be without it. Got a cutter splitter, sweeper, log grab, bucket, jib boom and forks. Will go form the 600 next time as I need more lift height and power. Superb bit of kit, and it took me two years to find a decent secomd hand one. Watch put on ebay as there is a scam running with a used 635, different sellers each time, same machine.
  3. I do a lot of domestic fencing, on slopes and the laser is Invaluable. I use mine to work out the heights and drop each post accordingly. Wouldnt be without it, far more accurate than string lines. I used a new labourer the other day who has always used string lines to get height differnces, and he was impressed. Not sure about using it to get a straight line though.
  4. That sounds about right. Mate cut through one with his hedgecutter the other week, but got out of paying as the installer had not put warning tape over it, and then just stuffed it in the hedge
  5. Travis perkins hire some kit that you plug into the householders elec socket, and it picks up all services, even plastic pipes. Was about 700 to buy I believe. there is also a website, beforeyoudig I think its called, that should assist in finding pipes and services. gas and water are ok to repair, but fibre optic is a different ball game!
  6. I thought as much. He still has an oak tree to clear for a customer of , ine, been laying there for three years now.
  7. Wont rod be annoyed he hasnt taken the wood on that green?
  8. What a pity you did not post this a month ago. My mate had a gtm for sale with a mitsubishi engine.only been used twice. like others have said, hold out for the better engine, as it will be false economy otherwise.
  9. i thought it must have been a lorry. i guess you have to factor in these costs into the jobs also!
  10. that makes sense, although i did have to inform my insurance company when i removed the rear seats from the truck, to convert it for tool storage!
  11. I dont think you can legally build your own tipper anymore. It all has to be type approved and be signed off by vosa, or your insurance will be null and void
  12. Its like all machines, the dealer never tests them under load. They should keep a pile of stuff to chip and test these sort of things out prior to sending out the machines!
  13. Yep. I have given up reporting things to ebay. They are crooks as much as the scammers
  14. My skip loader has no footplate. Apparantly any machine like that built in this country is not allowed to be stood on, but buy a foreign one, and it can. Madness
  15. A chipper I brought on ebay two years ago is up for sale now. Same pictures as used before, same trailer. It even has the same dent kn one of the mudguards. Yet if its sitting in my workshop as we speak, how come this guy is selling it?
  16. A little trick if anyone wants a speedy police response, say " one of them has a knife" they will be round quick as anything
  17. who put those bricks in as an edge? it spoils your lovely work!
  18. Errrm am I missing something. The link shows a vid of a drunken bloke sitting on a picnic table:!
  19. Does it mean when you are dicing on the back, the chainsaw wont blunt when it hits the sides:blushing:
  20. Sadly not. Its a great shop though, one of the best in the area. Sometimes go in to the post office and get served by " inspector clueso"!
  21. ok. i have the tractor, just cannot find a winch for it to hire. Might have to just buy one! Will look out for you sometime, as my yard is nearby
  22. that looks like little gaddesden to me, by the green. Are you connected with brushcutter, and is that winch for hire:confused1:
  23. or try trailertek. They also send out, free over £100
  24. I cannot understand why anyone withholds their number unless they have something to hide? I understand some switchboards, but most are clever enough now to still display the number. Personally, I would ban withholding numbers!
