  1. Thanks for all the advice lads (and lasses?) - I'm grateful. Thinking about it I was probably just looking for a shove to crack on with it. The wife has arranged for 3 more Hetas companies to come over this week, so I'll get those quotes and go from there. Interestingly, her sister had a full multifuel boiler system installed to run rads and hot water and it cost €350.00 plus parts through the books - only in Ireland! Thank you...
  2. @Stubby - that's a good looking piece of kit!
  3. Cheers Gents for responding. What about the old house insurance becoming invalidated etc or is that all b*llocks as well? @Gillsgardening Leeds is near Bristol right?!!! To be fair it would pay me to bring you down. Received the following in the past 30 mins; "OK subject to an inspection the average price is £1200 including vat. for you to supply and we fit it would be £600 + vat."
  4. Hello all, I was recently offered a multifuel stove from a friend and have been acquiring quotes from various Hetas certified stove installers. Whilst I realise that stove installation is a specialised service, we are receiving quotes back ranging from £860.00 to £1500.00 to install the stove in an already existing fireplace with suitable chimney. When I requested a breakdown of costs on the cheapest quote (£860.00) it worked out at £550.00 to install with £310.00 for parts with the installation taking one day. £550.00 inc VAT for one days labour seems incredibly expensive to me. Am I being a skin flint or is this a realistic price?
