  1. i'm no expert on powerlines (far too dangerous and insane to work near/on) but could the fire in the tree have burnt through the wire thus breaking the circuit???
  2. as was said that's not dedication that's addiction. Chris i've got hold of a bulkhead and loom for 50 notes so won't be needing to get in touch mate. sorry:thumbup1:
  3. nick that last thing sounds suspiciously like smokecloak. A friend of the family owns a computer shop and they had a break-in, the doors were padlocked shut with a security gate over them which was padlocked. The scrotes just used liquid nitrogen to shatter the locks and got away with a fair bit. he had smokecloak installed and showed me how it works, you cannot see a thing not even your hand in front of your face. oh and it smells like those quasar places.
  4. too small peter:001_tt2:
  5. the best example of this liam are the students at either oxford or cambridge who jump off a bridge into about 4 foot of water. A couple of years ago there were a lot of injuries as the water level was lower than usual so there were a lot of broken legs. What astounded me was these are the brightest of the bright in this country yet they don't have the common sense not to jump after about six people have been carted off in an ambulance with broken legs etc. I once read somewhere "Common sense is directly inversely proportional to intelligence", i think that sums it up nicely.
  6. why not get a skip in? I used to do this before i could drive and was operating out of the back of my mums nissan micra. I also used to ask a local farmer to drop off a trailer if he had one going spare and then he'd come and pick it up. I also hire a chipper and get it delivered and collected.
  7. come the revolution brother woodpicker:001_tongue:
  8. Although you've probably saved the forensic service a few bob, you'll be right at the bottom of the list for being 'white british'. (sorry still slightly bitter:sneaky2:)
  9. there's a big tree down across wetherby road at oakwood near me. This is a main bus route, saw the bus driver on his mobile to head office, i think, to report it as there was no way he was getting through.
  10. i'm not sure it is articulated Ed, it has a rotating cab i think.
  11. the novotny harvester looks a nice little set up.
  12. and charge you to see how much is in your account every month:sneaky2:
  13. might be alright for a smallholder then tom?
  14. they look a bit like potato crates, have a word with a local farmer, he might take the whole lot off your hands for his tatty harvest.
  15. it wasn't the grey ones that got destroyed sean, they're still going strong. if i remember you tried the grey ones at that get together
  16. are they for climbing? if so the gill gloves are apparently the mutts nuts as they were designed for sailing or you could buy a pair of the black and grey gloves that nod sells and cut the fingers to length.
  17. not worked for as such but seen tim healy (auf wiedersehn pet) absolutely trollied in my local. On the work front although not arb, i was on the set of kay mellors latest drama with alun armstrong, sue johnston, john duttine, frances barber and andrew lee potts. they were going to use my landy for anchoring a balloon but it was too windy so it wasn't used so spent 10 hours standing around doing nothing:thumbdown: but got paid 100 notes:thumbup: and got to talk to some big names.
  18. i think dean deserves a mention for getting the spirit of the competition award which was a book on how to fell trees properly:lol:. I was talking to the bloke who is in charge of events at roundhay park today whilst i was moonlighting with my land rover on a film set and he was saying that they are hoping to have the uk finals there next year and hopefully the european finals the year after.
  19. If you're looking at the crawler route, how about the new holland crawlers? I know that QTS use these on sensitive sites for mulching but i'm not sure whether they have the grunt to be used as a skidder/forwarder. I do know that you could stick one on a trailer behind a 7.5 tonner or even on RO/RO flatbed.
  20. its looking good and if the climbing comp gets boring there's all sorts of things going on and there's the rare breeds survival trust centre there; i think we have some immigrants from your neck of the woods stevie in the shape of some cows wearing the long ginger wigs:001_tt2:
  21. thats what i've told him johnny,we know it makes sense:001_tt2:
