  1. Did 38/39 there. Well recommended & a pleasant place to stay
  2. Stihl bio. Don't get to use the saws as intensively as I'd like to :-( Use Aspen too
  3. A well deserved recognition of what Steve and his team have achieved. There must be many trees still standing due to the Arbtalk family
  4. I wonder if it runs on Aspen
  5. An overdue account reminder on a post card works a treat.
  6. Redemption is a wonderful thing:001_smile:
  7. Two drops last night and four this morning, Chippenham is dry. We now have more fallen leaves than green grass
  8. I paid £199 for mine at the arb show. A bit early yet for any feedback on them
  9. Mr. plogs normal ? It was great to meet him and his cohort on the rampage through the arb show :-)
  10. I'm always pleased for a good reason to use my 441 on the 16" bar and 8 pin rim. It is my fave It helps that it loves it's Aspen , the 260 doesn't like cold weather & the 201 is a stroppy young topper.
  11. R.I.P. Toby dog. We feel for you. Unfortunately for a dog to have an interesting life there is always a risk.
  12. Nice work Reg (as usual). Jareds' felling impresses me too I feel the need for a session in the woods now to make friends with the dutchman
  13. Good tips A bunch of chuggers and a big issue seller would be good too
  14. As lifting gear it would be on 12 monthly rather than the 6 monthly PPE
  15. Good tip. Adequate penetration in the root run is also essential. Preheat helps with difficult cracks. Expensive metals help in the process. If it's old it may be cast, so stitching may be better.
  16. Good reply Says somewhere in the C.S. 38 schedule "equipped ,able & willing":001_smile:
  17. Land Rover Trying to answer the next question early.
  18. Got me chuckling
  19. For a sought after book like that "A book in the hand is worth twice it's cover price":001_smile: On arbtrader it would sell quick!
  20. Stihl 261 or Husky 550 ? difficult choice. Sharing parts pool or a bit of friendly rivalry ? My only suggestion is to get your new saw with a semi-chisel chain as well as a full chisel. The semi-chisel chain is less aggressive in the cut and will build confidence. When comfortable the full chisel goes on for your assessment day
  21. "The things you see when you havn't got a gun" usually a comment made when seeing a bunch of big lasses out on the pull.
  22. Too slow. :-) Its a brave person who drives close to a canal i.m.e !
  23. I thought that cranes are rated at tonnes/metre, what the superstructure can safely handle. A 1000 tonner is never going to get 1000 tonnes 1 metre from its centre but 100 tonnes at 10 metres is do-able:001_smile:
  24. Highland Park here. The tcp made me smile, sounds like Lagavulin to me too.
