  1. Cold chip shop curry sauce on hot buttered toast as a wake me up.
  2. Humph! Another show missed due to the weather being good at the wrong time. Work ............the curse of the drinking man.
  3. Compressors get rated by their free air delivery (ie not working) Air tools by average consumption (ie not working) My 10 HP compressor puts out 25 cfm My 1" drive impact uses 12 cfm On old wheel nuts the compressor does not even begin to keep up. Sorry about the abrupt style by the way,my keyboard skills are crap.
  4. The Inland Revenue regards insurance as part of self employment. A subby could be in danger of being "spoken to"
  5. still BFG mud terrain here too.
  6. On the subject of brake bleeding,it is often better to push fluid in through the bleed nipples & drain off from the res. I know that some machine makers fill new machines this way
  7. I'd agree. Report it. That sort of carelessness reflects badly on those of us who refuse to cut roots.Takes longer to hand dig & so costs more.If the client worries more about money than the L.P.A. then they need a wake up call!
  8. BFG, A very well built tyre. A workhorse from the Michelin stable. Never had a failure from my mud terrains & on the third set.
  9. MS 260,15" bar Husky felling lever Spare laces for the Haix Young lady with own Unimog, not fussy about body type, just no rust please.
  10. Know the feeling! You know it's bad when the weighbridge operator wont look at you.The last time that I put mine over, it was free as they were SURE that I didn't need a ticket. I took a lot of kit off. Good collection of barrels,.........................dont you recycle your empties?
  11. Quite so. Jubilation in Wiltshire as the plain chocolate hobnob famine is over!
  12. Got totally soaked moving the digger onto the next job. Only bit warm and dry was the feet, praise be to the Haix. The good side was that when a brake rod pulled out of it's clevis and the trailer took off down the slope (after uncoupling) it was safely caught by a pile of brash that I have been meaning to move for ages. Today everthing was better than I could ever had hoped for.
  13. Get well soon to the lakeland pup Terriers will be terriers, mine is a total pain a lot of the time, but never boring!
  14. Sounds interesting. In the South would be practical,Cumbria would be a good excuse for a visit.
  15. This is certainly true of the older farming types. In my recent experience the new boys have become so health & safety aware that they make me rethink my safety policy. I'm not so sure of the chainsaw world,an awful lot feel that law and best practice dont apply to them.
  16. At risk of being cheeky; How is the weather on your planet? What colour are the leaves?
  17. My landy mates said "at least he's onto canals now" The canal mates said "chainsaws are more interesting than puddle clay" My commercial mates say "why the feck he doesn't do approved welder status rather than wasting money on c.s." Ought to leave you all in peace,BUT; I like the trees on our canal, are those fungal growths serious? The tree health threads are read with huge interest, and the book list noted. Rumour is that a climber is joining our group!!!! Back to madmatts point, its a l/r thread.THREE SERIES 1's IN PIECES and the 60th looming. My best mate says "any chance of a walk":heeeelllllooooo:
  18. :wave:Great truck! I'm beginning to feel normal now, glad i'm not the only one with the need to tinker. Inspired to go off to the workshop to get the half scale 101 going for my small friend.
  19. It makes me feel very uneasy that there are people in the area who would ever consider doing that to an owl. It is good to see the level of interest in conservation here.
  20. Tyre pressure makes a huge difference to off road performance.Low pressures make for better flotation and far better self cleaning, downside is possability of unseating and clag creaping into the tyre/rim. On the road, speed/load rating comes into play.A tyre that is too soft will overheat at speed and delaminate. The best way is an on the move inflation system as used by all serious off roaders. B.F.G.s used tubeless are the canines testes.Another part of the Michelin stable!
  21. Leaving business cards offering 24 hour taxi service around local pubs is quick & easy.
  22. I hear nothing.... The door tops flap too loudly!
