  1. 200 litres an hour sounds a lot if you ignore the fact that it's keeping out 70,000,000 litres of water
  2. Pulling through a snatch block is good in that scenario, the block anchor could have been biased into the wind and the driver could have maintained a good view of the chainsaw operator ;-)
  3. Telescopic ladder and wire core for re-pollarding waterside willows
  4. Fascinating , arbtalk is a splendid learning resource
  5. You could apply to erect a large steel frame to protect your clients property. The listed building consent would get the planning department twitchy
  6. A rock hook would the best bet. I've got a pecker for my machine , but often find in layered stone that an electric breaker is quicker :-D
  7. Nice one, I'll be borrowing that
  8. Auto box is perfect for a work landrover in my experience. I run a big diesel that used to eat clutches, gearboxes & uj's , fitted a ZF auto hp 22 from a range rover 3.9 . Not had a transmission problem in years :-D . Would be interesting to try a later hp24 and use an electronic controller from Ashcrofts. Most serious off road heavy vehicles are auto ;-)
  9. Too true 3.9 Isuzu on a zf hp22 here, the reliability offsets the fuel cost
  10. If I was closer I'd be banging on your door to put those tyres on just for the pleasure of it
  11. Stonehealth in Dursley are the people to speak to. I use their paint softener and it is good stuff
  12. Wondering which of the Avons it's sitting at the bottom of , would make a cheap work boat 😉. And as pointed out not too difficult to re float ...... despite the hash made of similar jobs by the experts 😂
  13. You could take it to a tyre repair specialist, the sort that do major repairs on tractor tyres
  14. Put me right off searching for a HAAS 😂
  15. I've been trying to break a Facom t bar for nearly thirty years so my opinion is a bit out of date
  16. Diamond sharpening thingy from Screw fix ...... £2.99 ☺
  17. worst thing I find with the echos is that the factory bars are so hard they are near impossible to dress with a file, I have to use a grinder at home to dress em, but being that hard its rare to have to dress them I've been dressing my Sugihara with a £2.99 diamond sharpener from screwfix
  18. Hurling it down in Okehampton 😲 , soooo pleased we borrowed a caravan 😆 , the tents here are rocking !!
  19. If a tree splits and then snaps off high your safe zone has gone 😲 , there will be a length of stem above & behind you ..... you'd have to be quick to guess which side it's coming down 😈
  20. Obviously you've checked your tyre pressures ? ☺
  21. Roll a ring kiln in and carry nice light charcoal out ? :-)
  22. I've been there, in the moment of crisis everything slows right down and gives you time to react. Didn't happen in tree work , but the knowledge that a fall from height would feel like an awful long time makes me careful ;-)
  23. Temporary posts up against the hedge , string the wire up , knock in the permanent posts and transfer the wire over ?
