  1. Nice one, I'll be borrowing that
  2. Auto box is perfect for a work landrover in my experience. I run a big diesel that used to eat clutches, gearboxes & uj's , fitted a ZF auto hp 22 from a range rover 3.9 . Not had a transmission problem in years :-D . Would be interesting to try a later hp24 and use an electronic controller from Ashcrofts. Most serious off road heavy vehicles are auto ;-)
  3. Too true 3.9 Isuzu on a zf hp22 here, the reliability offsets the fuel cost

  9. I've been trying to break a Facom t bar for nearly thirty years so my opinion is a bit out of date
  10. Diamond sharpening thingy from Screw fix ...... £2.99 ☺
  11. worst thing I find with the echos is that the factory bars are so hard they are near impossible to dress with a file, I have to use a grinder at home to dress em, but being that hard its rare to have to dress them I've been dressing my Sugihara with a £2.99 diamond sharpener from screwfix
  12. Hurling it down in Okehampton 😲 , soooo pleased we borrowed a caravan 😆 , the tents here are rocking !!
  13. If a tree splits and then snaps off high your safe zone has gone 😲 , there will be a length of stem above & behind you ..... you'd have to be quick to guess which side it's coming down 😈
  14. Obviously you've checked your tyre pressures ? ☺
  15. Roll a ring kiln in and carry nice light charcoal out ? :-)
  16. I've been there, in the moment of crisis everything slows right down and gives you time to react. Didn't happen in tree work , but the knowledge that a fall from height would feel like an awful long time makes me careful ;-)
  17. Temporary posts up against the hedge , string the wire up , knock in the permanent posts and transfer the wire over ?
  18. Thin discs are probably one of the wonders of the modern world, along with the miracle of the mag drill A plasma cutter and a good welding set opens the fabricacation horizons wide
  19. A bit far for me. More storage capacity is a good plan though. Looked them up now ...... Nationwide :-)
  20. That's what I thought Jon , white is cheaper. Best I speak to my friendly farmer or local mariner
  21. Quoted £1.15 / litre today to fill a 200 litre drum
  22. The Three Crowns doesn't really count does it ?
