  1. ..agreed mate, reductions SO much easier. Great for thinning fruit trees too
  2. yes, the world would be a better place without nukes...and guns and cancer and paedo's and earthquakes etc, etc. If we get rid of our nukes....we will get nuked one day, simple innit?
  3. been using mine since I got it at Jonesie's last year...its a great saw, no problems.
  4. Haix seem to have let their quality drop over the last few years..I've gone over to Meindl now, I like me boots to last 2 years...not 3 months
  5. your right, it should have a CE mark. I used a Blair harness years ago, it didn't have a CE mark..the best harness I've ever had. Gutted I couldn't get another one.
  6. used mine in a conny hedge today....found that I kept knocking the choke on doing 'level' cuts. Missed the power of my 201 and the 14" bar...had to get the meatier saw up to do the biz in the end. I'm going to keep mine purely for crown reductions and thins...nothing remotely logging going near it
  7. excellent, I love things like this...roll on spring!
  8. I like the look of that seat harness...deffo my kinda thang!
  9. went out to the Discovery this morning and it wouldn't start...got my starter pack...forgot to recharge it after last time!...wind, snow, ice...back to bed!
  10. Martial arts....I keeps me in condition and..more importantly... its fun !
  11. yes, they will grow back, yes, it is poor work. Its up to the Council to ensure standards are met by contractors. We all know that some of these Councils are more interested in price than quality...there are plenty of unqualified and vaguely insured companies doing Council contract work. I personally couldn't and wouldn't do work like that...I take too much pride in my work for that....
  12. everyone has different tastes in climbing gear. The Lockjack sport is the best bit of kit I've ever bought. I've been on one for 5 years or so and it works for me. Make sure you've got the right size clutch for your rope (10-11mm, 11-12mm, 12-13mm). I use 11-12mm on Yale scorch and 12-13mm on Yale XTC. Also, get some of those small DMM krabs (or equivalent). You must make sure the Krabs you use on the Lockjack are smaller than the wooden knob!...If you use large krabs the knob can get stuck in it and you'll be doing a feet, knees, chin, hospital . Downside of LJ is - they are pretty crap on stem work, I often go onto a prussik and choker it. The are also pretty pants in conifers unless you have a nice high anchor. I always use mine with a ropeguide, what a great energy saver!
  13. well done mate!
  14. everyone likes a little screamer!
  15. nice pruning mate...but the Ivy is gonna love that!
  16. ha ha!...7 up?
  17. the correct name for long, stringy bogie's is a 'scronker', unless you cough it up and spit it and it swings like a pendulum on a bit of epicormic...then its a 'scronkey'. It makes you realize just how much crap we breath in cutting/chipping doesn't it?!
  18. ...well I've heard that 6 out of 7 dwarves are not happy...are you?
  19. or Sigs Pl, Paul....'send over...' 'no, bend over!'
  20. phone your local councils/parish councils etc...its not going to come to you, you need to find out where the work is, let them know who you are, ensure you meet all the required criteria...and go for it!
  21. ha ha!..nice one!...Unlike the Commando course, at least the only 'female' to pass P coy was male during selection!
  22. ok, 12 stone, ex-Para, I do like Chinese food and I've been a lesbian trapped in a mans body for many years!
  23. sounds like a nob. I'd just throw the ball back in his court and say 'come and have a go if you think your hard enough!'
  24. hello, I am a 30 stone Chinese Lesbian who is a civvy. I have one leg and I am allergic to sawdust...well, do i get the job? If you look on ARmy RSE - Army Rumour Service (ARRSE) there is an ex-forces employment site on there, hope this helps mukha..
