  1. everytime I go on arbtalk (and this is without logging on), my Norton antivirus is blocking repeated attacks from Arb related websites. Is this a cookie thing, or is something more sinister afoot on arbtalk?!
  2. all good idea's fella's. I'll be fitting a tracker on my chipper and immobilisers on the trucks. If they want my gear, they will take it, all I can do is make it as hard as possible for them. I like the idea of descending on thieves like an avenging demon using a tracker..but sadly, it ain't gonna happen...shame though!
  3. Not sure what your implying Mr Logchopper.....the flame seems to be burner a bit higher and brighter in the logburner though.....
  4. my missus chucked in all the left over veg from xmas day...roasters, swedes, carrots, sprouts, peas, cauliflower cheese, then a bit of stilton...lovely!
  5. I've refused to do jobs to large numbers of 'dog eggs' in a garden. If theres only a few, we chuck to one side with a shovel and crack on. After a particularly grim day, dismantling a big hornbeam in the pouring rain last saturday, I took off my harness and placed it in an extremely unpleasant canine 'Mr whippy'....not the best end to the year, it pee'd me off no end!
  6. he was a great soldier...and a great American. He wasn't a gung-ho leader and was willing to spend time building up an army which would defeat the enemy with speed and the minimum casualties...he'll be remembered for this in history. RIP.
  7. if your not a qualified military parachutist, you need to go on a course (which is also great fun). Me and my mate just had to do a bit of refresher training and one jump (all with a mighty hangover). Great experience to jump out of an old C47 Pathfinder Teuge
  8. they all got on the DZ back in 1944, but the 2 Panzer divisions waiting for them ensured only 20% of them got home again. Thankfully, all that was waiting for me was a cold beer in the pub across the road....
  9. well 2012 started off as another 'scrape through it' year, but the last few months saw us working flat out and really getting the ball rolling Another highlight for me, was jumping out of a Dakota aircraft onto the DZ in Arnhem, Holland....my first jumps for 11 years I hoping 2012 will see me bring the money home to build my business and make my families home more comfortable...bring it on!
  10. A G10 Army watch..yay!...just like the one I was issued with years ago...now I won't have to shout at the groundies to find out what the hell the time is (and not hear their replies and have to resort to 'charades' to find out if its time for tea!)
  11. me and 2 of my 3 sons during a days logging this summer...
  12. ...end of a big day...
  13. a cold days climbing just before xmas...give me cold over wet anyday, especially in Beech!
  14. new in today, a big thanks to Geoff for helping me fit it...lining the flue was a nightmare...couldn't have done it without you mukha!
  15. great stuff, I leave all the clever stuff to the likes of you and Paul, I just swing around on 'em mate!. Every now and then I use a prussik loop without a cambium saver of any kind, just to remind how ergonomic a climbing system lockjack/ropeguide is!
  16. ah, yes, this is the photo I meant to put up. I think I must have sent your one to Paul Rich, he made it up for me!. I found it got stuck on retrieval a lot until I shortened the cocoon by putting more prussic wraps in. Its perfect now.
  17. here's mine..never gets stuck. Before I shorted the prussic and added a shrink sleeve, it got stuck all the time. Love it now, best climbing aid I've got
  18. had a busy 2 or 3 months mate...moving away from freelancing and playing with my own trainset again
  19. ha ha!...what the big prize then, a night on the lash in 'Element'?
  20. nice!...some good pics on there fella's Hunter and Sons, Tree Services | Facebook
  21. just had 2 really rough days in heavy rain, reducing 4 oaks between 2 houses, over a garage and a greenhouse...wet, slippery and knackering. Ready for bed...
  22. with the exceptions listed above, I find the best time to prune a tree is just after I've sharpened my MS201
  23. The divorce rates are pretty high around here!
  24. agreed aaron. A lot of young lads think they can rock up with a couple of tickets and ask for £150 a day...its not going to happen fella's. Its got harder and harder to earn a crust as a freelancer in the last few years...people are prepared to work for less and for longer and a lot of companies are prepared to accept lower quality pruning. Money..it spoils everything!

    Knife attack

drugs! either that or this woman was mentally ill...I have had some strange and potentially violent similar encounters myself over the years. Keep on your toes fellas!
