  1. IME, you do not need a huge winch to get a mog out of trouble. I've got mine moving again with a small tirfor. The secret is to stop as soon as you loose traction, if you keep trying you simply dig big holes with the wheels, then you are in real trouble.
  2. I would have thought that they will have a pretty good idea of how much fuel/timber has been used by the your meter readings.
  3. And if you don't climb trees every day you will also die, kinda sucks really , but hey thats life I really, really hate the drama queens who bleat on about how "dangerous" our work is!!, it a choice, if you don't like it fine piss off and do something different. How many accountants die for diabetes or a heart attack? IMO our job has more health benefits than negatives
  4. Indeed and new drivers would be lower risk and cheaper, yeah right!!!
  5. The fee is for fuel burnt on appliances generating RHI, what made you think you would need to pay it on any other fuel?
  6. Well its training, but I guess it would make sense to do a ticket you have not previously done.
  7. Apparently doing any ticket counts as a "refresher" as you have been assessed for your basic saw skills.
  8. If its the same as my mini digger, its a thumb screw on the side of the injector pump. You unscrew it to bleed the system, once its running you screw it in and it should be sorted.
  9. That is to remove sap, to prevent staining in summer felled Sycamore, not sure it changes drying time any.

    4,2 or 1 tree?

I reckon remove the skinny front leg, gob and back cut the left and right ones, then sever the rear one
  11. If you were the guy on the left, the guy on the right would be a whopper!!!

    Moles

Thats very strange, as they are completely buried and you need to tie some coloured cord to them and leave it sticking out the ground along with a maker stick, in order to find them on your return. Now scissor traps I could understand going, as they stick out the ground.

    Moles

Spot on!!! I was given some of these traps by the widow of a neighbour, they are excellent!! Far better than any others I have tried!!
  14. Poplar was used for carts, its hard wearing and flexible. Anyone who does not think willow is tough should stump grind a few big ones.

    Moles

    Catch the moles first.
  16. I would personally reverse cost the process, work out how much you could afford to pay and still make a decent return, I would then approach those offering the processing service and tell them how much you could pay on a volume rate and see if they can meet your requirements. There is no point being a busy fool, IMO.
  17. He is referring to the one shavey said he has.
  18. Considering falling onto concrete or tarmac would lead to serious injury or death, I generally consider working over water a bonus. I have worked on jobs where ground staff were required to wear life jackets, but would not entertain one in the tree personally.
  19. Had it on my ms200, ms201 and 540xp, so can't see it being the bar.
  20. Good call for those tricky behind you one handed cuts!!
  21. We had ours up just for Christmas day, collected at 12.30 and got a taxi home at 9, mind they only live 2 miles away. My parents are JW's, so stay well clear this time of year. We got the game "Card against humanity" it was great fun playing this with the in-law's, although my wife accused me of finding the most inappropriate cards when it was her mothers turn to read them out………. "who me, surely not!!"
