  1. Absolutely!!!! But unfortunately many seem unable to "listen" to any machine and then wonder why it breaks down
  2. The Norcar does look very compact, which is an important consideration when carrying multiple plant on one trailer.
  3. I have found heavy reductions to be very good at rejuvenating sad looking Yew's, not done one that looked quite as bad as this, but if it had been done when the TO recommended who knows.
  4. You have missed my point entirely I was not comparing the 90day terms with forestry terms. I was highlighting the difficulty in getting solidarity within any industry. The government guidelines are that small firms should be payed with 30 days (may even be 28 I don't recall) I note that these firms generally expect us to abide by HSE "guidelines":sneaky2: You may be happy to wait 90days, but I have known firms go bust in less time, so I'll pass
  5. I totally agree with the article, but fear that unfortunately you will never get solidarity within the industry, some will hold firm for a while maybe, others will simply accept the current terms and take more work. There is a huge construction company near me who's payment term are 90days, I and others refuse to work them, but they don't struggle to get contractors.
  6. Yes!! You can bet he doesn't pay the repair bills!!
  7. Yes .
  8. I enjoy watching your mechanically empathetic driving style, I would happily let you drive any of my kit!!
  9. Good job the chain brake worked!!!
  10. That has to be one of the most ignorant and useless posts I've ever read. Often the tree is not weighted where it needs to fall, often I use a pulling line, but there are many, many occasions when our FL is just the ticket and speeds things up greatly. We literally never leave the yard without it.
  11. Bare in mind that the Werner on ebay will include VAT, so £2500+VAT, if that makes any difference.
  12. Also, you really need to move both hands as far back as possible, you are strangling it (thats how my joiner dad used to describe my use of a hammer as a child, holding it too near the head)
  13. Too sort, IMO. I have 4ft one, excellent for felling and rolling butts.
  14. Fisher Price Sthilvarna.
  15. I think chances were pretty thin even before this thread
  16. I saw lambs in Devon today. Been exceptionally dry and settled for us so far this winter, but I fear it will not last.
  17. Never heard the term before.
  18. There was a site near me where they racked up all the mess (with a very large excavator), but never burned it, I guess they are habitat piles? Looks a bloody mess, right next to the road and a reservoir.
  19. No worries:001_smile:
  20. Like I say, I'm glad the likes of you are not my mate. I needed one for a job, asked about and was shocked by how much they were. I was pissed off that he had shafted me, in actual fact he had never actually completed the deal (£40 still owing) if he was any sort of a decent bloke he would have returned the winch or given me more money. He already had the same model winch on one of his mogs. I have good mates who would never dream of dealing with me like that or me with them, but as I say I don't need "mates" like that or you by the sound of things
  21. 6 months maybe.
  22. Not sure Mrs Miggings would appreciate you dragging "good sized trunks" across her prize garden
  23. It was fully working, even had an up to date LOLER, it was ex council, I even knew its history. I wanted to sell it for near what it would cost me to replace it if the need ever arose. When the need did arise I found they were £2K. I asked the so called mate to return it for the price paid, in fact he still owed me £40 of the £500. He refused, but paypal'd me the £40. The friendship ended at this point. At least I got to see his true colours.
  24. Also the one I got of ebay was in very poor condition compared with the mint one I sold.
