Ah, with you now Yes, there are people who think they are worth a fortune, when in reality there are plenty of other lads queuing up to do a better job for less. Its funny the best lads I've had in the past were always the least greedy and the rubbish ones always wanted more. Not used a subbie for a while, used Peter a few times in the past.

Got to ask whats an "aeroplane pilot"?? and if they are quiet how can they have such a large effect on the industry IMO, those who charge too little are the problem, if you think about it the less people charge, the less there is to go round.

I'm approved as a "self supplier" using Arb arising (I never call it waste) We sent them council purchase orders for the felling work instead of the felling license thats require for woodland timber. I did do the application myself, a consultant sorted it.

Went to site, assessed the situation then came home, in this snow we would be pretty unproductive and working on a snow covered banking, climbing snow covered trees is not the safest. Rang the construction firm we are working for and they did not expect us to work They then asked me to price a large site clearance this afternoon, so all worked out well really

IME, some cats don't know how to climb down. Because of the way the claws work they need do descend backwards. I had a ginger tom who was excellent at climbing trees, could go straight up a limbless stem and simply reverse back down.

Depends what he actually does and how replaceable he is. Sounds a lot for a basic groundie, but maybe he's very good and you would struggle to replace him?

Personally I think you need more experience before leading a team or an exceptional natural climber. IMO you need to be in a position to step in and carry out any task you ask the lads to do. Reading the replies above has reminded me why I work for myself with minimul staff. Good lucky:thumbup1:

I would argue it is relevant, this will be "non reactive to uv light" and confirm that I'm correct with Alder

It is bad that they crack, however I don't believe one has actually come apart. My mark 2 cracked within a few months of getting it, its the top link, so I would argue not critical. I have continued to use mine and the crack has not altered at all despite the best part of 12 months continued use. I would not continue to use Stevie's with so many cracks, but I don't personally think there is any chance of one actually coming apart even if shock loaded.

I have problems with my arms, we are supposed to be square, i.e. your span (arms out full stretch at each side, measure from finger tip to finger tip) should be the same as your hight. I am 5'10.5" tall, but my span is 6'4":001_huh:

I think its because the punter gets lots of quotes due to it being a big job, whereas with smaller jobs they often just go with the first quote if its reasonable.
