I've done 20 years and never had a major problem or had to use small claims, almost never do written quotes, but I ring every customer the night before we intend to go and ask if its convenient to come the following day, but in honesty if we arrived in the morning and they said they no longer wanted the job doing, we would simply leave.

I think people are confusing the discharge "chute" with the in feed "hopper", I think the OP is talking about removing the in feed hopper daily, but I could be wrong???

Written quotes is your mistake, verbal quote and a handshake, if things go wrong it wasn't you

I think we are OK because we don't "cold call". If you send out flyers you may need to be cautious. With most of our jobs its several weeks between quoting and carrying out the work, but sometimes neighbours of where we are working come out and ask for work doing, if the quote is accepted we may carry out the work there and then. I think because have approached us we are OK??

Would need to be huge to tip into or crane into, much easier to simply pile it up and sheet it.
