  1. The reason I ask is that if the revs drop slightly you loose draft, which can lead to blockage, this is sometimes simply the throttle slipping back, also the "no stress" prevents material slowing the flywheel enough to reduce the draft.
  2. I like to count my blessings, I know its a cliché and a bit old fashioned, but when things aren't going well in business the fact I'm fit and well, my wife and children are all healthy and happy are far more important, as has been said money can always be earned, tomorrow is another day, get out grab the world by the throat and make some coin. Last year my mother fell down the stairs, breaking her neck, leaving her pretty much a quadriplegic, sh1t like that certainly puts things in perspective
  3. Is the "no stress" working correctly?
  4. The way I heard it was " life is a shitsandwich but the more bread you have the less you taste the shite "
  5. You eat your chopping board???:001_huh:
  6. Who suggested it was a council tree???
  7. Do you sit in yours, like a bosuns chair????
  8. Why steel rather than Cobra and the like???
  9. You have posted some crap…………………….but this beats all
  10. It's normal the first planting season after the felling.
  11. Because I don't have "guys" on the ground, just my 20 year old son.
  12. Good points, my right arm is pretty shot most days Maybe when all the children are through uni I'll look at changing the way I work, but for now its all about getting done and getting paid.
  13. True, but the idea that we all work in large country dwellings is pretty laughable, as you know, we spend most of our time in tiny back gardens or over 5 gardens and a few house roofs, not to mention, sheds, patios, greenhouses, etc, etc.
  14. I work in the land of terraced houses with tiny yards, we are a tiny island thats massively over populated, they idea of a yank claiming lack of space is hilarious, just look at your trucks
  15. Brilliant!!!
  16. Laugh all you like, I guess your the only skilled cutter in here I get by.
  17. Depends how you work, if you have a 3 or 4 man team rigging is probably the way to go. I've pretty much alway work as a team of two, I want my groundie chipping or dragging, not manning a rope. I cut and chuck 99.9% of all our trees, if there is some where to lower into, there is somewhere to chuck stuff, IMO. I'm always amazed when I watch vids on here where people lower every thing, it would bore me to tears, I want to just keep cutting and get done, but every one is different
  18. :dito::crying: I now have a Tupperware box full of salad with some meat or fish.
  19. I would never want to go back to having my diary full of work booked in for specific dates, feel to tying for my liking. Some times I feel in the mood for a certain kind of work or maybe just feel like a day off. Also if a top client rings I can go straight away.
  20.
  21. OK, lets say you ring on Tuesday night and ask if Wednesday is convenient, they may say "no, friday would be better" "no problem, see you friday"
  22. I rarely book jobs to a specific day, just give a time frame and ring the night before we intend to go. With the weather we get I would spend my life ringing people to move jobs around.

At one time you could make a donation to the running of the site and get 1000 PM facility as a thank you, but I'm not sure where you still can. The site is very soon being replaced with a new forum, maybe it will be an option then??
