  1. How I wish that was true!! I really wanted them to be great, people seemed to rave about them, I have some Meindl walking boots, which are great. At first I thought the cold feet was me lacing them up too tight, but I have tried walking socks, loose laces, insoles etc, etc, but they are unfortunately crap
  2. You bugger!!! It was your comments that got me thinking I need to change!!!, I'm disappointed Ian, very disappointed!! .
  3. My son's pair did that, we returned them and they were replaced with new
  4. I'd sooner know who the idiots are and get shut.
  5. Happens every year, why do they never learn Its not like nesting season is a different date each year
  6. But you hated the Haix because of the eyelet breakages!!!
  7. No, I put a 6" ducker on the front of my u1000 (the one stevie has now) it had no blower, I ran it at 1000 full bore (2600 RPM), it was fine on woody brash, but conifer or brash with leaves just blocked the discharge shoot. With a blower you can run at 1800 RPM without any discharge problems
  8. No Duckers are built for the front of a mog, so no reverse box needed
  9. Those pegs make me feel ill, why would anyone make cuts like that??????
  10. Cut the end off, it will be pretty white, I'm still sticking with Alder
  11. Your only issue will be GVW, you will be pretty much fully loaded before you get any chip in the box.
  12. They are basically a TP, you will need a blower if you are filling a chip box on the rear of the mog, but with a blower you will easily fill a trailer behind the mog. You need to watch the weight, so really only a 6" I would say.
  13. How do you get so many years out of a pair of boots?? do you get them resoled?? My Haix sometimes have no tread left when they fail.
  14. I've never had that, mine were always like slippers straight out the box, they are stiff when new, makes driving a bit tricky, but soon bed in.
  15. I think I will end up doing this, but know in reality if I have some Hiax on the rack I'll be reaching for them in the morning regardless of the time of year.
  16. I had been wearing Haix Protector pro boots for the last 11 years or more, they are so comfortable, its like wearing your slippers to work. My feet were always warm, dry and comfortable. My only issue was how long they lasted, I occasionally got 12 months out of a pair, but often less. Given what they cost I would have like to get 18 month or 2 years out of a pair. Also the eyelets sometime snap off. So bearing the above in mind I decided I would try something different this time. Many on here seem to like the meindl Airsteam's, so I tried a pair on at my dealers, they felt a good fit and looked well made, so a purchase was made. I have been wearing them now for a little over a week, to say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. They are awful. They are cold, the sole is so hard, I took out the insole they came with and put a gel one in, but its not really helped. The sides also feel hard and uncomfortable. Gutted:thumbdown:
  17. An 88 is a saw you only use when you really need to.
  18. Thats mature Alder, big difference.
  19. I'm sticking with Alder, probably dead when felled (suppressed)
  20. No, turns very orange when first felled, then goes paler as it dries, IME. Winter felled is much less orange too.
