  1. Laugh all you like, I guess your the only skilled cutter in here I get by.
  2. Depends how you work, if you have a 3 or 4 man team rigging is probably the way to go. I've pretty much alway work as a team of two, I want my groundie chipping or dragging, not manning a rope. I cut and chuck 99.9% of all our trees, if there is some where to lower into, there is somewhere to chuck stuff, IMO. I'm always amazed when I watch vids on here where people lower every thing, it would bore me to tears, I want to just keep cutting and get done, but every one is different
  3. :dito::crying: I now have a Tupperware box full of salad with some meat or fish.
  4. I would never want to go back to having my diary full of work booked in for specific dates, feel to tying for my liking. Some times I feel in the mood for a certain kind of work or maybe just feel like a day off. Also if a top client rings I can go straight away.
  5. OK, lets say you ring on Tuesday night and ask if Wednesday is convenient, they may say "no, friday would be better" "no problem, see you friday"
  6. I rarely book jobs to a specific day, just give a time frame and ring the night before we intend to go. With the weather we get I would spend my life ringing people to move jobs around.

At one time you could make a donation to the running of the site and get 1000 PM facility as a thank you, but I'm not sure where you still can. The site is very soon being replaced with a new forum, maybe it will be an option then??

  9. Some threaded bar, big washes and nuts, would have lasted year!!!
  10. Can you order a new one?????
  11. You should be OK as you have an email from him telling you to continue after he has seen the netting. Threaten small claims court and follow through if he does not pay up.
  12. Some people are out to get you from the start, possibly had one today. The guy I get in to grind my stumps went to a job for me, lady has said there was a stump at the front, he gets there and there are 2 do we grind the one we think is right? and risk her saying its the wrong one and we end up going back to do the second for free We decided to leave it and go back once we are certain which stump we are being asked to grind
  13. Hehe, thats a modification of a very old joke, it used to include prince Charles and Nelson Mandela, but was not very PC
  14. The tree was damaged, probably by fire, the bark was removed allowing some pathogen in, the tree has compartmentalised the infection, given time the stained area would have rotted out. You can see the trees reaction to the damage with extra timber creating the "C' shaped rings. Its perfectly good fire wood.
  15. Ouch!!!, but it does look like a brilliant piece of kit
  16. IMHO this is one of the advantages of bespoke and unusual kit, if this had been an mass-produced trailer it would have never been seen again. As its so identifiable, plus the market for such a trailer is so limited along with the fact that the owner did such a good job of spreading the news of its theft, probably made it very, very difficult to sell on.
  17. Really, really pleased you got it back :thumbup1:
