  1. We can hire in road tow and tracked machines at 100-120 a day so would say 100 is a fair price.
  2. Combi can and a sthil one shot. Saves the wrong amount of 2 two stroke being put in by me or my groundy. Slightly more expensive than bulk 2 stroke but much less hassle and no lean mix risk
  3. Thats the official line but if you phone up you can manage it. I gave up phoning when it was a 0344 number and was going to be on hold for over 40 mins.
  4. Because its a money making scam. Its ironic that alot of people who are on the dole could potentially work as laborers on building sites but you have to pay to do a test then pay for a card. You also can't just go and do a test and get a card you have to have someone who has a higher card already or a company to say you are right for a card. The ROLI bit is even more of a scam of the money variety.
  5. Green waste site at culceth on kenyons lane. Think it is 20 quid a load
  6. What did you stop for to let them past were they behind or coming down. Hills are a bad place to stop. Never had any probs towing with mine
  7. I would clean it up but take a picture and send it to tree officer so they know it is legit.
  8. as you can't see the dryer its not a silly comment. If it was explained there was a dryer then fair enough. All you can see in the pic is rain wet logs. Much like i have at present on my yard
  9. I imagine the initial cause will have been mechanical damage from a mower or strimmer leading to exposure of the cambium layer and subsequent decay. The spalting is an attempt at CODIT
  10. Looks like a hybrid pop of some description
  11. I've an inverter stick welder. I can get acceptable welds most of the time with it. Goes as low as 15amp and upto 90amp so can be used on very thin to thicker steel. I also have a gasless mig. The less said about that the better
  12. I use arborisk. Customer service has been good as have their prices. Not had to claim so can't comment on that yet
  13. I pay around 300pound for 10mil
  14. To get the spar back to where the pollard is being done i would wear spikes. The spike marks will be in the bit you are chopping off. Don't use them on the wood that is retained.
  15. Extra business maybe but at say 2.50 a net for 200 nets is 500 quid as opposed perhaps 200 in loose logs. Yes more work involved but you also have the ongoing sale of logs to consider with the coalmon.
  16. Can be brittle as has been said it is also heavier than you may think.
  17. Daft question but the filter is clean isn't it. That can have an effect and is often overlooked
  18. Google earth with a dot and number next to dot. You can save images direct off google earth and modify them in an image program
  19. Give them a price anyway. That is how it works in the retail world. If you supply cheaper you will generally get your product in the store unless there is a contract inplace with the current supplier. Judging by the cost of CPL products they can't be that cheap at wholesale to the store.
  20. That is some nice looking wood that. I wonder where that came from I might have another to come down at the same site which has some basal decay so may present some more interesting colours. I also have a yew to come down with a nice straight section some 10 feet long by 14 inch diameter. That is another story though
  21. I've stein explorers and can't fault them. On my second pair. I'm sure that the more expensive ones will be just as good
  22. Replant is a necessity as it a condition. The new tree also takes on the tpo. What you could do is ask if different trees be considered if they aren't deamed appropriate but would need sound reasoning.
  23. Take photos do the work and notify the tree officer/LA of what you are doing. If you feel it is an iminent danger to safety then get it done. Hanging branches could fall into this.
  24. 5 days unless it is an imminent threat like the root plate is loose then safety would take presidence. Take as many photos and notify the la as soon as possible. That's my take on it. If its dead its not necessarily an imminent threat so 5 dayswould suffice
  25. Sounds like an airleak. Mine was doing exactly the same. There was a leak on the carb.
