  1. I have AT Grabbers on my L200 they are not as good as the BF Goodridge AT I had on before, Less wet weather grip, and wear quicker, I will be paying that bit more next time for the goodridge's.
  2. I have a 10 ton on the back of my tractor and it does everything I need, it gets defeated occasionally but on those bits its easier to put through a saw bench as they are knotty horrible bits that split poorly anyway, I have used a splitter that had 2 phases pull first handle and its 10ton force pull second handle it doubles up, so produces 20ton, nothing stopped that thing, it was amazing, but it all costs, My advice 10 ton would be minimum if you can afford to go bigger go bigger.
  3. Quick google search reveals this.................I don't know if its correct........but is more info than the OP supplied Mobile: 07762782134 Address: Graham Benton Benton Arboriculture Banstead Surrey Sm73rd
  4. Mine stays in the truck and gets checked periodically when convenient, Personally I cant fathom why people need their phones on them all the time, answer phones/voice mail was invented for a reason, I always get back to people asap, usually within the hour unless its "one of those days" from my experience the people that don't leave a message (but I phone them back anyway) are 9 times out of 10, are time wasters.

  6. it will be worth checking what the charging rate it should be about 14-14.4 volts, to make sure the regulator/ rectifier hasn't malfunctioned causing over charging.
  7. As long as they are Grey Squirrels get shooting, as they are a introductory species and are being , and also in need of removing, so reds (native) can be re-populated. I remember as a child seeing reds I am only 38, I can't remember the last time I saw a red down south.
  8. why do you think the dyneema kit improves the operation? I moved from the lock jack ( when it was past its best and time to replace) to the spider jack because i Preferred the fact it used one karabiner, ie one less thing to fail. the spider jack took a bit of getting used to (for me anyway) but once used to it has always been a good bit of kit. Now I do have to replace my spiderjack so would be interested in what the dyneema kit actually brings to the party
  9. after 18 years of smoking I gave up 2 years ago and put on a about a stone in weight, Basically I gave up Carbs, if i were to have rice or pasta it is brown rice or had Gluten free pasta, loads of Veggies or meat, bread wise I have cut it out but occasionally i make Irish wheaten bread, apparently its easier for the body to digest, For "super" energy I eat , almonds or monkeys nuts etc for my at work "energy" I cut booze to one night a week, ie friday drink as much as i want. Every morning and evening I do 20 minutes on a rowing machine, I have lost over a stone within a month, currently back to my ideal weight there are so many diets about its hard to know what it actually good for you etc. but I have to say I feel better than I have in a long time, I feel like I am 25 again rather than being nearly 40 and unfit
  10. Two people locally doing Gardening and "easy" tree work for the the sum of £91 a day.......for 2, how do I know? My step father employees them to do bit and pieces...... £91!!! where does the £1 come from?
  11. if the tree is failing and likely to interfear with the 3 phase lines, I would of thought the electricity suppliers would be interested in this, and get their tree gang in asap to make it safe. I have had 2 instances where trees like this have been sorted within 24 hours of contact with the power supplier,
  12. Didn't look like it was overhanging to me..................
  13. when its really cold in winter I wear gloves, other wise I don't, as for the people that say never, they must be fair weather climbers,
  14. Lancelot and Squire Cutters | King Arthur's Tools, I bought one of these once used it once and threw it away..............I am no health and safety nazi but these bits of kit are very very dangerious imo and would steer well clear as dervishcarving says, I can see how it happened, I too have removed half my index finger with a similar tool. they travel through bone very quickly.
  15. Here is a link to some videos, this man knows his stuff and i have picked up some good info from his videos, http://www.weldingtipsandtricks.com/stick-welding.html
  16. I made some high sides up for my pick up the frame work is 20mm box section covered in 2mm aluminium sheet, 7 years on and its still fine,

    Day rates..

Don't worry it could be worse a competitor could get one of their friends to phone you up and get you to quote for some work, todo a price check, I know of a couple of tree surgeons that have done this and to me, what can i say thanks for wasting my time, its ok though it all goes around .....
  18. In the dark the picture is a little "fuzzy" but still it is a very useable for backing up to trailers etc I would recommend it for the money all day everyday, my girlfriend bought a "ifor williams" wireless camera kit for her horse box for well over a £100 quid and the quality is no better.
  19. CAR REAR VIEW KIT 4.3" TFT LCD MONITOR+REVERSING CAMERA | eBay I have one of these fitted to my truck for the money you cant go wrong been installed for a year no problems. It has markers so distance can been judged
  20. Years ago my boss was away and I was called to fell a tree that had been set on fire, it had a good size limb on the back side, that had to be removed before I could even entertain the tree being winched over, I can't remember what cut i used, but what ever it was it was not the right one branch went and took the saw with it, it had a 24inch bar ................que one bar with a 90 degree bend, I think i had been doing tree work for just over a year you live and learn, its all about feel, its never happened to me since, you live and learn............still learning

  22. In my 15 years of tree work, how many times have i heard this...................the answer is alot, rock and a hard place spring to mind. I used to care about doing nice reductions and try the educate people, not any more if i have a customer that wants a nice job i will, if they want it hacked in half i will....................or someone else will, hack it and move on. when is comes to TPO reductions i find that they are all a PITA due to what the council will permit and what the customer wants.

    Boots

I have just replaced my Klima Tirol Fighters, with another pair of Tirol Fighters after 6 years of everyday use, they might not have the best "feel" but they have worn better than any other boot i have come across.
  24. Trust hold all my business insurance now, and I have to say they seem to come up trumps, just had the renewal come for my Pick up and no one else can seem to touch the price they have offered, although they did jump the gun and phone to see if i wanted to renew before the renewal notice had arrived
  25. I have a feeling the velcro wraps are fairly universal and will fit Buckingham spikes as well, as i gave my first set of velco's away to a friend that had some regular leather pads (velco padding had worn thin but were still alot better than the standard leather offering) I do know they were not bashlins but can't remember what they were for sure but have a feeling they were Buckingham Straight Steel Spikes.
