  1. I can only comment on paint on the 150 it has just fallen off, Greenmech salesperson promised everything would be sorted but reality panels have been replaced and thats it. paint work is shocking. apart from that its been a ok machine. would I buy again? No aftersale is poor, and the actual company is only 30 miles from me. meanwhile the Timberwolf seem to have some issues with stress fractures from what I have heard
  2. If it makes the OP feel better I'm doing some work for my neighbour at a great price, no one will get close to my price, my Husky 540 broke on a pretty much non paying job . Actually to be honest I can't remember the last time I used my husky and it hasn't broken on the days I use it. Anyone thinking of buying a Husky 540XP................12 months on I can honestly say just don't ..........no really don't do that bad thing to yourself.
  3. if you want to make a concession, how about you supply the fuel / chain oil for him to use on your jobs. as for profit share.............................................really? not sure which planet Vespasian is on.
  4. 0% finance that's hard to ignore, the paint will probably fall off just as you hook it up to the back of your vehicle though............................
  5. Should of saved your money and invested in this................ live and learn ART Positioner 2 with swivel ART Positioner cam/clutch (type S for wire core flip lines)
  6. Rather than using ply, I would use Stokbord, I recently lined a muck trailer in with it, tek screw it in place, job jobbed. STOKBORD 2440x1220x12mm SHEET black
  7. I only have a small compressor, so use a gravity fed spray gun its the most efficent way to apply creosote I have found. you have to watch out for bits of contamination getting lodged in the nozzel of the gun buts its a small price to pay! Also Get a good full face respirator,
  8. I have never had or used a zig zag, why you think its flawed through misuse rather than design?, Climber error? what error? side loading it?
  9. clearly they are professionals the ropes to high and not 6mm poly rope!
  10. so let me get this straight, you want people to donate money so you can offer a reward to someone that hands you the person that has caused the damage to plants around these trees, and when this happens legally you can do..............nothing as they havnen't broken any laws, I assume you plan to send them a strongly worded email. whilst I admire you dedication to trying to do something but your not coming across well in my opinion.

    Age of saws

year of manufacture is listed on the serial number plate within the serial number I think. http://husqvarna.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/879/~/research---how-to-read-the-serial-number-on-professional-products.
  12. A ripping chain is just cutters filed to ........., I have a feeling it's 10°- 15° where as normal is 25 - 30. there is massive differance in "chips" from a ripping chain and "normal" .
  13. my experience of cat resue is you can't get near them, they just keep going up until they fall out, done two, both cats were ok, but can't be bothered with it now, they get up there they can get down.
  14. You know that Auto tune is gonna play up and bog down just when you need it........Stihl for the win I reckon.............
  15. A nice reduction is not happening, a top and lop will look awful, so be brutal and make it into a pollard, and keep on top of it. job jobed
  16. Personally I use it as a way of making more money it seems a waste to turn it into firewood, I suggest planking it, for uses as tables seats etc. I just mill the stick for the customer and leave it, what they do with is upto them, I have no doubt most gets left to rot away but it's money in my bank,

  19. EASY LOAD SAW HORSE CHAINSAW METAL SAWHORSE LOGS FOR WOOD BURNER ELSH | eBay I used one of these recently and I was impressed, its not the be all and end all, but nothing ever is but it speeded up the job no question, I was cutting and had a person loading it worked well, overall the build quailty is good and would buy one again,
  20. £300 to dismantle that tree? seems a bit cheap you lot live on bread and water in dorset?
  21. I have searched for the bulldog bone but never found anywhere that it can be purchased, any links to where it can be bought would be appreciated, I know treestuff.com sell the rope runner.

I have a friend that has a good size wlanut that is to be felled, they would like the stem planked so they can use it in the future, my question is though storage of the planks could be a issue as its just a plot of land and no real place to store other than out door under a tarp. would this be okish? what would be the ideal storage be? would it be better to leave it in a stick and plank nearer the time it needs to be used ie 2 years time. cheers
