  5. many thanks guys, start the new job on 29th and have already had someone looking for a timber trailer. anyone know where there is one? looking for good condition secondhand probably...
  6. Hi Guys, Just a quick note to advise that I`m no longer working for Orange Plant based at the Wetherby (tockwith) depot. My last working day was last friday 18th December and am enjoying a few days well deserved holidays before christmas. I`ll be taking up a similar role in similar with another Yorkshire based company soon and will let you know more info (if you are interested!) when I start with them. Merry christmas and many thanks to everyone with whom I had dealings. regards, Baz:thumbup:
  7. Matt, Fantastic news, well done to you both. Is she trying to tell you how to tie a prussik loop in that pic?? Also listen to stephen and the guys as I made that big mistake and have T shirt to prove it. 70 hrs + a week is no good if your not there!!! Life is definately not a rehearsal!! well done again
  8. Is that Harlequin hedge youve been making? That used to be available from Cheviot trees many years ago where you bury the bottoms of the willow in the ground and it grows up to form a hedge. nice alternative to leylandii and instant too.
  9. no problem, see youve booked a shredder? mustve been that brilliant demo eh?
  10. Glad to see parts I brought over did the trick for the machine and is working ok Johnny, we`ll make a convert of you yet!
  11. johnny, youll be out wearing these dancing tonight eh?
  12. Big butch tree surgeons eh? soft at heart really. we used to get lots of Robins coming into the wood when we were "Brashing". takes me back a few years. anyone remember that old fashioned method of pruning with a hand saw? well done John, Baz
  13. you`d be better with a Boxer mini skid steer and auger to dig the holes, knocker to put posts in and leveller to back fill, carry the posts to sites etc. depends on access though. 35" wide machine.
  14. All this tooing and froing... best advice is to take it to a TW dealer to sort it out. It` be sorted now and earning again...
  15. Mark, many thanks for your comments, its always a pleasure dealing with someone who can keep smiling through adversity. Let me know how you get on with the machine. Ian, when are you coming for that shredder??? I cant hold it for much longer... Always a pleasure guys. Cheers.
  16. Lots of people asking for chippers have a budget in mind rather than what they want a chipper to do and sometimes you can end up with a machine that does "for now" and in the longer run may end up costing you more time, effort and downtime. In my opinion, look at what you are wanting the machine to do, whether you can utilise the logs for sale or are in a commercial venture where time is of the essence, etc and need a bigger capacity or tracked etc. is it pure cordwood or contaminated waste? (with nails, wire, etc) once you decide on a range of two or three machines, get some demos of all machines, check out parts prices, backup and service and if you are a new startup, see if you can save your cashflow by utilising something on 0% or low rate finance. You`re doing the right thing by asking questions to the guys who use the machines and arbtalk is great for that. regards, Baz
  17. Hi Stuart, So whose fault would it be if you send a man out with your machine to a job where you get the rate your after and "somehow" there is a 12" rod of metal goes through the machine and causes £10k worth of damage.?
  18. I hope your talking about the shredder being a good tool!! With regards to the bearing thread , having seen so many customers with all differing manufacturers of woodchippers, coming through the doors. I would always advocate taking your machine to a manufacturer trained technician. These machines can we worked very hard and there are some customers who think that they should NOT have to mantain it and that it SHOULD work in any and all situation. Most , if not all machines require regular maintenance and in the case of the bearings, if it is ot done correctly ,could fail again in a matter of days, weeks or months at further cost. Baz
  19. Hi, looking for a grinder or cheap chipper? gimme a call 0797 333 0505 Baz

  20. you hang out in all the best places penfold....
  21. Sorry to hear that Justin. Its getting to the stage where you dare not approach these guys for fear of what they might do to you and yours if you get involved. sadly becoming an honest, caring citizen seems to be losing its appeal and we all think twice about it before getting involved. Saw a new gadget recently that emits the sound of evil sounding dogs if someone sets the alarms off.....hmm
  22. As with anything , its best policy to contact the company or person who sold you the item to see if it can be repaired or replaced..it may only be something very simple to fix.
