  3. Hi Rob, penfold is correct. If you need any info and have an email address I can send you some. If you look on our website you will see a video of the shredder working. We have a few of these on our fleet and do very well. They dont have the usual pain of changing blades as they are swinging hammers. It is also available in trailed, tracked and PTo versions from an 80+ hp tractor. prices are from around fourteen K plus the dreaded. If you want to see one working gimme a call or email. Baz
  4. I`ve also spoken with Nick Mayell from TER about registering chippers etc on the register and it is very cheap to do so, as per the thread above. We are liasing with Nick to make sure that any chipper sales that come through Orange Plant be registered on the TER. It would be good if other dealers and companies involved in machinery sales could all become involved and help someway to bring down the thefts of machinery. If you need any further info ring me or ring Nick Mayell on : The National Plant & Equipment Register (TER) Tel: 01225 464 599 Bath & West Buildings Lower Bristol Road Bath BA2 3EG Email: [email protected] Web: Home - The National Plant & Equipment Register Baz

  12. Hi Guys, wanted to give my feedback of the show. I think the show definately has potential for the future. its a great setting with some fantastic trees and yummy beefburgers too! Praise go to Wm Clark and Barony College for organising the event and many thanks for inviting us along too. considering there was no charge to get in or park, you (the punter) couldnt go wrong. The weather was unpredictable but the event was very well supported with lots of things to do and see. it was good to see the big forestry harvesters and forwarders sharing the show with arb guys and log splitters, processors, cranes, etc. we had lots of enquiries about the TVGTR and the shredder too with some good leads formed. ive included some pics here too. hope to see you there next time. regards, Baz

  16. Apologies if there is already a thread for this but wanted to share this... was in Horticulture weekly. Carlisle man jailed for pretending to be tree surgeon A man has been sentenced to three years in prison for pretending to be a tree surgeon. Michael McDonough was found guilty of false representation to make gain by Durham Crown Court after defrauding an 82-year-old woman in Wolsingham on 3 April. The woman had booked a tree surgery firm to carry out work in her garden. Two men arrived on her doorstep purporting to be from the firm and she let them in to carry out the work. When she rang the company to check, after having paid McDonough, they said the men were not theirs. She confronted the pair and they fled, only to be arrested five days later when a police officer spotted a vehicle and men matching their description. McDonough, who is from Carlisle, was charged with false representation to make gain and the other man was released without charge. McDonough also received a 12-month driving ban for motoring offences. Crook CID detective sergeant Neil Edgar said: "I would recommend that residents only commission work with reputable companies and by pre-arranged appointment. When workers do attend your home, make sure you check their identity and if you are unsure check with the company involved. Quite often these types of criminals prey on the elderly and vulnerable."

  23. There are so many trackers on the market that charge differing fees monthly etc. The one we use has a one off payment to supply and fit with no monthly subs. Its tried and tested for vibrations and water ingress in the Arb industry as proved in this thread. Cost £850 + vat. Ive spoken to so many people and everybody have differing opinions of trackers and indeed security measures in general. There is one less chipper stolen tonight due to the machine that was fitted to the chipper that went walk about in Hull. If you ask anyone who has been a victim of these morons and has suffered the problems of replacement costs, insurance nightmares and the extra costs to upgrade their existing "security measures " (IC), they would think it a small price for the piece of mind it affords to a valuable piece of equipment. It take around 2 hours to retro fit so that theives cannot see it. Timberwolf are also looking at fitting it in factory as an option. Sure you can find cheaper models etc but weve seen them all and the bad fitting too. regards, Baz 0797 333 0505
  24. Hi guys, just thought I`d spread the good news about a TW150DHB that was stolen this morning in Hull. It is fitted with a Satrak satellite tracker by Orange Plant here in Tockwith and was recovered by the Police within 2 hours!! They have arrested 4 individuals and the machine is now back with the guy working. I know weve had some horror stories in the industry about machines going walkabout and they still seem to be happening. Just check out the threads before this one. For those of you who keep saying that trackers dont work. I hope you are not back on here one day writing a similar thread. Please secure your machinery. Just remember its an essential tool of your trade.
  25. Hi Guys, I know that Celox has been used in the military and recently by a mountain rescue team in Derbyshire, I believe. Has anyone used it in our industry yet? It probably one of those products that you wouldnt know that you need until something happens where you do need it. It has a 3 year shelf life and I know from personal experience how lethal silkies are and wish id had something like this then. regards, Baz
