  1. Any close up pics of the wounds left?
  2. It would be considered your fault regardless I think.. they don’t break unless they are incorrectly fitted with wrongly adjusting bars. Sorry that’s probably not what you want to hear.
  3. Western red cedar or larch have been my two favourite cladding woods, I like Douglas but would use it as a more of a structural Timber.
  4. Expensively, last oak clad building I saw a lot of it had split and fallen off after 12 months , could not believe the cost either!
  5. Looks like it would be mint for the right jobs.... do you have to dismount the chipper though for tipping ,You would definitely need a camera to hook it all back up?
  6. How is the chipper being powered ?? Does it have the worlds longest PTO shaft ?
  7. Have you lost much cutting speed with the pitch change? Would be nicer for pruning I bet. Run a Sugi on a 540 and although the bar will probably last a life time the nose sprockets will not , got about 2 weeks from the original so although it’s a big outlay I would get a spare nose sprocket with a new bar just incase if you go sugi and then you could of brought 2-3 techlites.
  8. I did just have to google do mandrakes really scream ! I wonder where that comes from.
  9. Looks cracking any way.. I like milling yew , find it pretty stable.
  10. How do you get on with drying the cherry rough? I’ve found it one of the worse , only one I’ve not had go crazy was dead on the stump but I picked up a nice stick the other day and thinking of leaving it for a few years before sawing.
  11. That’s got some interesting colours for yew , a lot darker brown colour , last two I’ve had on the mill have come out purple and white.
  12. Looks great mate , always freaked me out the mandrake in pans labyrinth. weird roots!
  13. Depends how you like climbing normally day to day , I have tried the akimbo and zz and most other mechanical ascenders and I always go back to a hitch climber VT type hitch and wrench .. nothing feels as fluid as a well tuned hitch for me personally. That said the akimbo was good , although it didn’t like dirt or wet ropes but mine was pre production and the new ones look a little altered. Never liked the ZZ for any application really.
  14. Thought the same , weird how the roots stop dead in line with the track, usually big beech I’ve seen wind thrown have meripilus but If it was meripilus you would expect a lot smaller root plate.. Looks like the roots along the track have been severed almost? Have you had utilities put in ?
  15. Kings landing was broken in the beginning credits, there is also a bit where I thought they had developed an electric motor for brans wheelchair and in the next scene he’s being wheeled in so was disappointed by that.. in all though after 8 years I thought it was a good outcome,we waited for years to see the dragons unsullied and dalthraki too unleash there full potential of mayhem on kings landing and they dragged it out for seasons ,every one got pissy when they did, oh well.. thought 5 was one of the best episodes myself.
  16. Replaced mine on an old pair I had...from tree worker , nod can get you new gaffs in Euro style if you fancy too.
  17. Another thing is a lot of ash for as long as I can remember especially road side trees usually due to root damage through ditching or agriculture have been manky half dead canker and inonotus ridden.. it’s only because people are looking for chalara they are noticing just how bad the older tree stock is.. again though they are important trees providing habitat to wildlife and fauna and should be managed appropriately with felling as a last resort.
  18. Think that’s a good point , I was on a site the other day that the ash in wetter parts where out in full leaf or flowering and the ones higher up either to being colder or lack of water where not showing any signs , not even flowers but I’ve seen trees be a lot later than now over the last five years and mid summer look fine.. I think now is a critical time not to have a knee jerk reaction and fell trees off that they may potentially have chalara or even if they do be building up an immunity to it when we have had the driest spring and a load of other unsettled weather patterns over the last few years ... I’ve seen elms behave very peculiar and still survive and remain iconic trees in areas where if they had given them a chance in the proper DED felling days a lot more would still of survived.
  19. Give the things a chance !! I’ve seen them not come out until mid June ! Every one jumping on this fell it it’s got challara needs to chill out... even if it has we need to give the resilient ones a chance, any way felling hedge row trees now in prime nesting season ??
  20. Shouldn’t they have been on the pile of shite you sold me ?
  21. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F352357191997 Could be a start but a pita with the import charges ! I’ll jump on bills thread and ask had any one got a spare fly wheel they want to sell?
  22. Can’t see Dany on the throne now

We have big problems with that from visitors , septic tanks do not like baby wipes ! Heard they pulled 5 tonne of them out of a near by sewer so why any one would do this or feels the need to wipe there arse on a wet wipe Is beyond me... but despite telling any visitors do not put things down the loo I’ve found my self elbows deep in raw sewage in the last few months thanks to bloody baby wipes and no doubt my sister and her kids !

Black Death... There population along with goosanders are out of control , my mates had his licence revoked and has 30 cormorants on his lake.. imagine the damage they are doing to his business. Back in the day there was a very healthy number of salmon par until the 80’s when river keepers where told it was illegal to control there numbers.
