  1. And people wonder why the bearings or fins don't hold out on tw... I've had some proper tools work with me who obviously when I'm not looking like to see what the machine can eat... Usually resulting in blades looking like this
  2. It's all about the prep pete I know, I recon I will go with that one.. My only worry is having machines like chippers that constantly broke there welds because I needed a thicker more capable finish and not need re welding every 2 months should I go for an arc.
  3. Mine kept blowing the whole block of units out , it got frustrating having to go to my landlord and telling him I've tripped all the work shops again! ... Maybe a different unit will do the trick , mine was a barn find !
  4. I'm with the Pfanner, best I've used by far.
  5. Jib on the winch is an example of what I need to weld. The welder in the link at the top of the page be capable? It is on my price range at they are only a few miles away.
  6. Looks good , I want somthing that will weld up the job of my farmi winch and still be useful for smaller projects .. I could take them to people I know but with my limited experience want some thing that will do the job properly.
  7. Looking at welders around £150-£300. I did have a clarkes £90 one and it was so crap and kept blowing up fuses I skipped it . Also my friend with a car body shop lets me use his but it's no good for steel thicker than 5mm and his was thousands so I'm guessing there must be a nice middle ground reliable general purpose machine that does not use gas in a sensible price.
  8. Good photo tim of what trees will do , imagine that oak in another hundred years It will be an impressive sight.
  9. I think the vista will look so much better for future generations ... Some of my favourite trees are on there side and have re grown to form an amazing new canopy

    Worn out saw?

Clean the air filter and a properly sharpened chain would be the first things is look at.
  11. Good machines... fast out put for size of engine and will out chip a lot of the older 6" chippers... A good investment for a small business IMO.
  12. Can't believe they walked away from that Tom.
  13. Yeah I was going to add" hey joe pass up the topper "would have to be said in a dodgy irish accent... Agree with stubby all climbing saws are 020's !! It's when you get the smart arse college boy giving you the "it's not an 020 it's an ms200t " it starts to bother me.

    Ported 390XP

Oh its a bad boy ... Ported 390 against it with the same bar and chain and its still an unfair comparison
  15. Running 3/8 no problems...
  16. 576 /372 or 441-461 I'm not really counting the 560 as a mid range if you already have a 550 and 372, it's not going to really fill the gap your missing
  17. That's what they look like before they go through the chipper
  18. I always just brought new ones mate!! There was the problem with the fuel breather as well..
  19. I forget how many 200 carbs I have gone though in the past.
  20. How did your boats fish? I don't really have any sympathy for people loosing there jobs if these methods are used ... Sorry !
  21. I've ran mine since august... Abused it hard and it seems to runbetter every day the more its ran in .... Unlike the 338 I got two years ago with the up rated engine that I brought to replace the 200ts because I was sick of there carb failures , 338's plastics broke a lot but the 540 seems strong as hell so far and extremely powerful.
  22. Looking at the first photo I see there has already been massive cambium damage uncured?
