  1. Second that spuds the man! Saved my 395 after seizing when it had the wrong fuel in it.
  2. I've just replaced the clutch on my 395 but that's all it runs and is about 7 years old ,with one rebuild and port job by spud.
  3. Yours looks a nice machine I have never seen one with a pto.
  4. Is the ul140 running a hydraulic chipper or pto ?
  5. Rev boost is awesome... Wish it was on my t540!
  6. It will split unlike any thing you have seen!! Half inch diamonds across the rays approx 3" apart .. Also the worst wood to try and split dry but ok wet.
  7. I would love one of these! Pm me some prices please, Like Zara's finger grip style.
  8. Fair play to you mate and welcome to the world of Arb talk!
  9. No tree quip it does not and I stand corrected as usual by you no they don't but they will make your life hard or they will say no you can not reduced that tree by 36% or what ever you have put in for ....but always when I have my consent forms returned it say all works to be carried out to BS 3998.
  10. What point are you trying to make ? Read your app one forms
  11. It does when there's british standards for tree work and the one in your photo is not following any of them....my tree officers would never give you permission to work on a tree again if you did that around here unless there was an extremely good reason and never in my working life would I sell that as a reduction or pollard, its a hat rack topping job plain and simple. Check some shigo books to explain why, a guide to modern arboriculture is a good start.
  12. That's what I'm thinking ... The reactionary growth is going to be explosive and create a worse problem within a year or two.
  13. It could of possibly snapped the drive off the engine I've seen an hs80 do this ... It's pretty much junk if that's the case unless you have a spare with a blown engine.
  14. Or sow up the stitching when it falls apart ... They surely still don't make those?
  15. Didn't think the last production run of them was too bad 39cc and 2.3 hp and 1lb lighter than a 201 .!! Unfortunately they never got over the stigma of the the 335 and early 338's that clearly was deserved but Got sick of 200t carbs going on critical jobs every 6 months so gave one a go and was relatively happy until it got stolen , apart from its some what brittle plastics and the electrocution from worn ht lead with broken cover bit! It was not a bad little saw.
  16. The thing about sharpening chains is that you learn by making mistakes and the experience of using a saw.. It is such a shame that training has become a mass industry and you have to have all these tickets to apparently even get on site when it should be IMO that these lads and lasses have to do atleast a minimum of 6-12 months work experience before sitting any Nptc to actually grasp what's going on around them and what will be expected , that way as employers we will not be getting I'm a fully qualified Jedi saw cutter blah blah to find out that my terrier probably has more of an idea if what's going on with a saw.. It's probably wrong but I give any new employer atleast 8 months on the ground using a saw under supervision and talking them through as much as possible before I would put them in for nptcs... After that they almost have free rain still would not trust my latest with my 560 though
  17. That's true I don't get people that want to make enemy's in tree work.. Got a few jobs booked in the diary helping other firms out ,I enjoy it so does my groundy and makes a nice change working with different teams. We all have to quote against each other, you either get the job or you don't its no big deal unless it's done very underhand. Two chippers and more hands are better than one!
  18. And to think you were worried about not getting close to last years efforts ...outstanding mate , glad your hard work has seriously profited this year.. Will dig out my card for a few tickets more!
  19. Went to a conifer nursery this morning and picked up these , the pines a bit ropey but I like the idea of bleaching some dead wood and making snags. If your in the herts beds Cambs area I really recommend amenity tree nursery in arlsey they have an absolute amazing variety of conifers some very rare. These are my three chosen. Think I'll start on the pine.
  20. He has you to guide him though Dave
  21. I would like to add that you can have the best saw in the world but if you can't sharpen it properly its a complete waste of time and money ..I have seen a vast majority of saw ops who can't sharpen a saw or diagnose what it needs to keep optimum cutting abilities then complain ..
  22. Get a pro stihl or husky without auto tune .. Unless you have loads of experience snedding and felling I would go with a basic stihl or non auto tune husky, untill you get your confidence up and can go ripping it up with a fire snorting 550 or 560 as they need to be ran hard and will not run right unless reved flat out and with a good chain.
