  1. I would not buy a 262 unless for a keep sake ,I had 2 of them back in the day and I have a massive soft spot for them now but they both blew around 12months old. Pm spud on here and ask if he has any saws for sale.
  2. I would still like more power on it but you have to appreciate it is what it is , no saw that weight is going to be a power house! What did get me yesterday was my tennis elbow flaring up because I'm pushing the saw in cuts to chase them .. But it's too easy to one hand.
  3. One of the larger Gardens I work at has just purchased a new 30hp kubota and are now looking for a pto shredder that is suitable for hedge clippings any recommendations greatly appreciated . I don't think cost is an issue .thanks , mat
  4. My mates just got his Subaru imprezza turbo engined bike cleared an registered as road legal... Now he has to strip it down re do some welds although they were good enough to pass , paint and tart it up and it proper finished... It looks proper mad max at the moment though.
  5. There's a definite skill to using a pole silky pruner especially in a tree , being good at any skill is but a plus in a climbers arsenal of tricks IMO
  6. All I have in this world is my balls and my word and I don't break them for no one. Tony Montana ,Scar face.
  7. Trackers are a waste of time , we have had a machine stolen and reported with an active tracker within 15 mins and it was never recovered. I have been told that some gangs who targets chippers and such gear will share / hire an expensive device that locates them in seconds and they can be taken off and deactivated, even if it is tracked the police will inevitably not enter a traveller site to recover it in fear of there own safety .
  8. Amount of armour, guns, and bombs that were thrown in to the kurland pocket it's not surprising at all !
  9. If he had or hasn't is it still a possibility parts will be there next day or within 5 days with a makita/dolmar with there current network??one of my lads recently did large felling , he was given a new makita and it broke ... Infact all 3 broke down so nobody had a saw
  10. I knew a lad from Wisbech who decapitated the driver of an old style mini in a fast track messed him badly. We get atleast two a year around here and that's just from 3 big farms .. I had a contractor go down the side of my van in some stupidly outsized bit of kit yesterday afternoon !!
  11. I'm like a stuck record I know, but did you try adjusting the oiler to the max.
  12. I'm pretty sure saw troll owns a dolly or two mate.
  13. I've used one quite a bit , pretty awsome machine..I love the blade and 4x4 comes in very handy , You can make good money if you have a lot of stumps , last time I hired it the engine had been changed to a tw kobota and it definitely speeded it up I know the engines are not renowned for there reliability though and the machine won't fit through gaps like a 252.
  14. Old mill here is a pic of mine is yours missing any thing? Is it oiling with out the bar ? I noticed it had an oil adjust just above the exhaust.
  15. O'neil did go on to say " you ain't the firing squad you piece of .. Ps
  16. Last respray cost me 1k on a single cab transit.
  17. Chassis , brakes and wheel bearings are worth looking at if the bearings anvils and rotar fins are new it should be good, just keep the blades sharp and there should be no problems.
  18. Easy reached though with the silky pole sawpruner, powered pole pruner is a nightmare in the tree ... If I'm honest I will take a silky hayatchi in the tree for most dead wooding.
  19. Agree with Steve totally... Saying that a silky pole saw can save a lot of time in the right situation but trying to hold a motorised pole pruner with one arm at full extension usually only results in a poor finish at a great deal of effort.
  20. Sorry in the pub whilst I wrote that and had not realised I had sent it ... It was a complete waste of time and would of been a hell of a lot easier to swing back over and take my anchore point out with the 020 ... I learnt by my mistake ... Never again a very bad idea!
  21. I used a powered stihl pole saw with some mega extension years ago on one of the biggest reductions I have
  22. Is Atlantic cedar worth milling ?? From my experience it is very brittle.
  23. You can destroy them in one accent if your that way inclined ,but do the same with any other glove and they just peel off and jam up the hitch and still get destroyed.
